The key is supposed to be D Major / Bm in A=440, but this guys tuning is a little sharp which will make it hard to play along to the video.
A D major key harmonica will work to provide uplifting melodies. A D 'Blues' (pentatonic) harmonica will also work, but will sound darker, sadder, meaner. Of course, a Chromatic harp would do, but you need a PhD to operate them!
