A Guitar And Gear Support Forum

These look promising but living in the boondocks makes holding one a real PITA. So I’d appreciate some hands on experience from someone here on the forum. I think these are advertised as solid wood guitars.

I have a friend that owns a brick and mortar music store and he sells Recording King guitars and I tried a RD-328 he had and played it quite awhile a few times it's a good guitar and plays and sounds good but from what I saw it will most likely need a setup. IMO for the same money or less you can find better if you are willing to go used. If you want to go new and can afford a little more here are my recomendations.
Yamaha LL16 solid Rosewood back and sides solid Englmann Spruce Top (I own one of these)

Yamaha A5R you can snag a used one for about a grand (I had one made in Japan)

Eastman E10D I bought mine used for about $600 they are a Mahogany Guitar and a Cannon.

After going through about 10 acoustics over the last year I ended up buying a used Yamaha LL26 for around $1500 and have sold all but 3 acoustics I have left because the LL26 ended my search for a guitar I love.

If you can try a LL16 because it's a lot more guitar than the RD-328 for a hundred more bucks IMO.

Thanks for the info Redman. I’m beginning to think it’s very hard to beat a Yamaha guitar… at almost any price point…

I had two solid wood Recording KIngs. Can't recall the model but both experienced the bridge pulling up. One I had professionally repaired and it pulled up again. Nice looking, sound good and fun to play. Oh they were 12 fretters. But I would look at a solid wood import Guild first or if you are willing to spend a little more...an Eastman is good as are the Red Label Yammies.

I have the OM version of the Eastman @redman mentioned & it is a fine guitar that would co$t several times as much if it had Martin or Gibson on the headstock.
