1st NGD of 2024 and probably the last (Bronco skid plates on my to-do list will eat up all my hobby funds).

I already have a Revstar Standard that I had pre-ordered and it took forever to arrive, but this popped up on Amazon as an "acceptable" and since they have a great return policy, I decided to roll the dice.

It is pretty much perfect outside of a rice sized ding on the side of the neck about 2 o'clock if looking down the fretboard towards the nut.

It plays as well as my highest end H-Bs though not as nicely spec'd out. The pickups remind me a great deal of the Teslas in my SC550 Slash Tribute and the "dry" switch is a lot better than a plain old coil split like H-B uses.

I love this color and like the idea of using this one as a home for my Les Trem and maybe the S-D JB & Jazz set I took out of the Jay Tursar 335 style I bought a couple of years ago and installed a set of chrome covered Alnico II Classic 57 style pups that looked more at home in it.

Very Nice..I do like that color. I tested a vintage white RSE20 a few weeks ago and for whatever reason it just didn't feel right. Do you find any difference in feel and/or playability between the Element and the Standard ?

The Standard is just nicer feeling everywhere.

It reminds me of the difference between an MIJ and a MIM Fender, even though both are made in Indonesia. There is just that next level attention to detail lacking on the Element. The Element pickups aren't as dynamic sounding (particularly due to the Focus circuit on the Standard vs. a high pass filter on the Element). The stainless frets are super smooth on the Standard, but they did a great job on the Element neck as it feels very fast. The matte finish on the necks is a nice touch shared by both.

If I bought the Element 1st, I wouldn't splurge for the Standard as it is one heck of a nice guitar, the Standard is also my go-to guitar when I want to play nowadays. It is lighter than my Heritage and plays almost as well. The Element is going to be fun to mod, and I think will give me the guitar modding bug again after spending all my free energy/time on my automobiles recently.

Thanks...I'm going to try out a Standard if I get the chance. I thought the Element was just OK but exactly as you said, it lacked that little something extra. I'm at the point where I don't like to sell guitars as tthey usually grow on me and the market frankly is crap these days so anything I buy is probably a lifer at this point in my timeline.
