Its been awhile since ive been on the old agf or this newer one! got 2 new hadean teles and ive bught plenty of sx and agiles and a douglas but never the hadean till now. Got the vintage white 72 deluxe clone hh 115.00 and black bound tele 119.00 in past 2 weeks. I thought they would be less nice than the sx line but i was surprised how nice they are better than some sx i have bought. I think the hadean and sx are the same but hadean using basswood bodys makes them cheaper but no less nice. super nice no flaws in finish on either and no high or sprouting frets. really built well and really clean builds after a quick neck and bridge adjustment they play nice with low action. No pickup or electronic noise or feedback.[
After buying and modding a ton of firefly terds and some harley bentons the past year im sold the hadean are just as good or better than the bentons which i was pretty sold on till i got the hadeans lol.. the white vintage style is still stock for now ordered a vintage pickguard to change and some pickups to be here next week.
I modded the black tele with blk vinyl on pickguard. new cheapo 9.99 amazon fleor alnico 5 bridge and a cheapo 17.99 amazon bridge and control plate with a floral pattern. It was really a nightmare lol took few hours to route out pickup cavity to fit new pickup since the new bridge plate has a different angle than any tele . Fill old holes and make sure the string length was good enough to intonate since none of the holes lined up and its a strait string bridge and not angled like the hadean sx teles are.
Ended up drilling out the holes in bridge high and low to make the rear string holes line up to even use the bridge.
I also ended up having to 0000 steel wool the bridge and plate since the plate was darker blk and had some missed paint spots. After steel wool they matched up pretty well and got rid of the missing paint on edge cleaning them uop nice. I advise 95% of people dont buy that bridge control set lol its pretty but alot of work! it all worked out fine but most people couldnt do it lol.
heres a link to the to much work bridge lol although i made it work out nice and the cheapo pickup sounds really nice compared to stock!
So impressed with the hadean teles bought the hadean natural for 89.00 on rondo and waiting on it next week, i thought the sx were nice but the hadeans i got had less flaws than the sx in the end great buys!
New hadean teles im really impressed!

I have always been a lp guy and always use alnico 2 or 3 in bridge and never cared for the tele sound much till now, always ended up selling off the teles for my lp sound. I can keep high gain and high fuzz pedals clear and sounds great , the clarity and cut is nice with a ton of gain and fuzz. Still like my lp for some low end bass and body but tele nearly there on tone.

Rondo is getting a bit more selection. I was just very tempted by the SX Ash Thinline strat. I love my SX Alder thinline strat bodied guitar.
I did mod the heck put of it. The body is wonderful. And I could do it again with an Ash version. I'm just not sure if I'ld like the heavier Ash vs Swamp Ash differences. I am quessing that if it were a lighter weight ash, it would be labelled swamp ash, like Rondo used to offer. My brother has a 70's Fender Ash Strat. It is not a good sounding strat, to me.

buuuuut if Rondo made one like yours (semi-hollow with mini-hums) I would be sorely tempted to add to the herd!
I've also been wanting one of these. Actually I'd like one to use as part of a project I have in my head - which includes a different neck. I'd love to know the neck pocket dimensions and if a fender spec neck would work.Partscaster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 9:01 am I was just very tempted by the SX Ash Thinline strat.

I do like the ash semi hollow strat and price is nice. it says 8.5lbs so could be 9.9 lol heavy for a strat.Partscaster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 9:01 am Rondo is getting a bit more selection. I was just very tempted by the SX Ash Thinline strat. I love my SX Alder thinline strat bodied guitar.

How does it sound being semi hollow compared to a normal strat, im guessing its less bright with more sustain?
Id bet the alder probably sounds better and ash more airy less punch than the alder. the mini buckers are cool!
Ive modded a ton of strats with p90s and triple p90s like rondo just offered they are monsters with 3 p90s lol. did a mini bucker mod on a lp years ago and sounded great was just thinking of using them in a tele mod.

I use Fender licensed soft-v 7.25 necks from Allparts, bought from The Stratosphere site. So the neck heels are fender correct.
The SX thinline neck pocket was almost perfect. It was a hair wide, and to bass side. Depth and length where great,
I used a thin shim along bass side of pocket to fill in tight, and it centered the strings well relative to side to side, and treble side of neck is tight in short pocket wall. So factory heel route was perhaps slightly offset to bass side. It now works great.
shim is maybe 1/32" thick

the routed SX thinline semi-hollow cavity is pretty small. I think its about 3" x 7", if I remember right. I bet that Fenders EJ Thinline is larger, but maybe not. Their PG screws are right next to clef hole on them too so maybe they're the same size.artandsoul wrote: ↑Sun Dec 25, 2022 12:13 pmPartscaster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 9:01 am Rondo is getting a bit more selection. I would say it produces a less focused sound, a bit more airy.... warmer than solid body? Probably individual wood piece variations start being as important.
But its as you'ld expect. Not super different, but a difference toward that semi-h sound.
It's also louder unplugged.

me too. counting them all, including a 3/4 and 1/2 scale, I've managed to keep that herd down to 16. All partscasters. All modded/ nothing Fender stock outside of the parts. I went on a terrible second parstcaster bender a few years ago. But I've straightened up. Now I just play with them like a little girl with her dolls. Change around the pickups, the necks, the pickguards, have little tea parties with them all. etc.dabbler wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 7:53 pmI have more strats than I need:Partscaster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 9:01 am

I got my mini-hums from D'Urbano Magnetics in AUStralia. His model called "phoenix" is very single coil sounding but retaining some nice thicker quality, too. And noise free. He also sold me the pickguard, has 2 and 3 pup mini-h pickguards. He has a good site. I will say...that phoenix mini-hum strat is tha most versatile guitar I have. Does sc to humbucker warm tones very well. Hendrix stuff to Allman Bros, fingers or slide,...it covers a lot with a great rich character.

If only Kurt would offer those HH teles in a hardtail. Why does every guitar need a strat style trem?

Well got the hadean natural tele today its 89.00 on reverb and rondo, so was 118.00 all in delivered and its a banger! really wish i had bought these hadeans before since i almost always mod the pickups and pickguards. I had more issues and flaws with the 10+ sx and harley bentons i bought over the years than these cheapos lol.
This one weighs right at 6lbs , the blk hadean tele is 7.5 . The white hh deluxe style is 9lb and pretty dam heavy for a basswood body. theres not 1 flaw in the clearcoat or finish on this cheapo hadean, no high frets just a quick neck relief and setup its so stupid nice for the price dont think ill ever buy a harley benton tele again and esp no more fireflys lol there all hype.
Im looking for a bridge pickup now and i want more girth like a lp but just dont know what yet
