Those of you who read my “I’m back!” post a few weeks ago might recall that I put my ’51 Fender 5A3 TV front Deluxe up for sale. It sold last Saturday, store check for $3k arrived today.
I bought it used in 1971 for $50 (about $360 in 2022 $$), so not so bad a profit, all things considered …
I just pulled the trigger on a Takamine TC132SC, an all solid wood cutaway electric/acoustic classical guitar. Most places retail at $1,549, but I found a floor model for $1,015.82 with no tax and free shipping—so I won’t get that sinking feeling when I ding it for the first time!

As long as your ready to accept that thats gonna cost you about 18$ of your 1971 50$ investment.

I like the old Fender amps, but a '51 Deluxe is an acquired taste. Sounds like it served you well.

IMHO, you cannot go wrong with a Takamine. I bought an EF340-S brand new in 1985 (a martin D-28 copy w/solid spruce top and electronics) and it has served me well over the years.
