Hadean EG-461 MN NAT

No, I wasn’t ashamed, but I had tried a couple of GFS Tele necks on it, and I was afraid that doing that didn’t make it a “Hadean” anymore, lol. I also put a black pickguard on it which rendered it very “unstock.” So it became more of a partscaster than a genuine Hadean. And since this forum used to be the Agile Guitar Forum I decided not to post about it here.nomadh wrote:Took you awhile. Were you ashamed? The back is very nice. The front pic isnt showing for me.
Tell us about it. Its like a spark to the olden days when there was a new 2 or 3 incredulous reviews about how impressed they were .
OH yea, don't upset all the purists we have hereSXLuvr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:28 pmNo, I wasn’t ashamed, but I had tried a couple of GFS Tele necks on it, and I was afraid that doing that didn’t make it a “Hadean” anymore, lol. But when I put the gfs necks on and the black pickguard on it I was okay with it for a little while, but the new neck and pickguard didn’t fit right. The high E string was way too close to the edge of the neck and the low E string had too much fretboard “real estate,” so that didn’t come out well. And I didn’t put the black pickguard on right, either, that was also crooked.
So I just recently decided to put the stock neck and white pickguard back on, and all is alright with the world again, lol. I decided that I liked the Hadean headstock (it was nice and “different”), and I was less interested in having it look more “vintage.” I was also very tired of looking @ my crooked mods.
This is what it looked like with the GFS necks, one is a GFS “Wholesale” neck and the 2nd one was a GFS XGP neck

I thought the frets were too small on the stock neck. Also, seeing as to how this was my first telecaster, I was going thru kind of a “purist” stage, and I didn’t like the headstock on the stock neck. I wanted the headstock to be more “traditional.”nomadh wrote:OH yea, don't upset all the purists we have hereSXLuvr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:28 pmNo, I wasn’t ashamed, but I had tried a couple of GFS Tele necks on it, and I was afraid that doing that didn’t make it a “Hadean” anymore, lol. Please don't hold back. Why did you swap the necks to begin with and were the gfs necks defective to cause the problems?
The GFS necks were fine except that, especially with the wholesale neck, it was extremely tight in the neck pocket with absolutely no “wiggle room.” And I didn’t want to take sandpaper to the neck pocket to widen it.nomadh wrote:OH yea, don't upset all the purists we have hereSXLuvr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:28 pmNo, I wasn’t ashamed, but I had tried a couple of GFS Tele necks on it, and I was afraid that doing that didn’t make it a “Hadean” anymore, lol. That is good info. I dont recall anyone mentioning that the hadean had much smaller frets before. That's an unusual feature now and good to know for the people who like or dint like it.SXLuvr wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 12:55 amThe GFS necks were fine except that, especially with the wholesale neck, it was extremely tight in the neck pocket with absolutely no “wiggle room.” And I didn’t want to take sandpaper to the neck pocket to widen it.nomadh wrote:OH yea, don't upset all the purists we have hereSXLuvr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:28 pm

And the frets were better on the GFS necks.
I have 5 SXes and they all have jumbo frets, so that was what I was used to from Rondo. This is the first Hadean I get and it’s described as having medium-jumbo frets. But I think they’re smaller than that, they’re more like vintage Fender-sized.
