I finally sold my AL-3100 Semi-Custom last week and so I ordered the AD-3200. Holy crap this guitar does not disappoint. It's a good chunk heavier than my 3100 was, and that guitar was a 2011/2012 run with the super thick body, but not so much so that it'll be unbearable with a 3" strap. I also ordered a black plastics kit to swap those over, but I need to order knobs too. I'm also most definitely going to pick up satin hardware for this thing, because the matte finish is screaming for it. I am very, very happy.

Congrats!
I will ask you as I have asked others - what is the neck profile like and - does it neck dive?

The AL / AD 3200 series is one of the only guitars I have any real / serious interest in for a potential purchase.
That said, the most I have ever spent on a guitar so far is @ $250, though I have put in some upgrade $$ as well.

I'm terrible at answering the profile question, because I'm primarily a bass player. It's almost identical to my Schecter Tempest, maybe 1 or 2 mm wider at the nut, but the back profile is almost the same. Definitely not as chunky as my AL-3100 was, which is great for me, but others may not like it.

As for neck dive, I just tossed my 'seatbelt' material strap on and it immediately goes to just under perpendicular, so it does dive with a slick strap like that, but it's not a 'heavy' dive, so I'd expect a nylon or leather strap would keep it in place with the friction. That seatbelt strap is comfy, but is almost like silicone with how little resistance it offers.

Congrats - that thing looks gorgeous! Super-interesting top on it.

Maybe when the world returns to normal I'll get one. Double cuts are where it's at.

Thanks! It's a beautiful book match, too. I've realized that I have a thing for double cuts.

I do, too. I didn't realize it until I got an SG and it was like the heavens opened up and said, "let there be comfort and ease of playing".

Swapped plastics to black, hardware to satin. Just waiting on my Buddhanauts, then it'll be ready to go.

Black hardware looks better for sure with that finish. I love those AL or AD3200, in Tobacco or Lemon Burst better in my case.

Waiting until you string her and hopefully upload some audio or video clips. I mean, you actually play those things, don´t you? :D

Enjoy it, Matt! Congrats.

I attempt to play. I'm a bass player primarily, so my guitar chops are...mediocre. But I'll do some recordings once it's finished with the new pickups in.

I still say kurt should get out of the lp biz for the most part. If he released the last 5 years of LPs all over again as double cuts I think he could sucker most of us into doubling our collections.

The black plastics absolutely looks better. Love the look of the guitar, but the color.....not sure on that. The silverburst one is more my flavor

Got my Buddhanauts in and got them installed. I have a few small wiring clean ups to do, but they sound SO DANG GOOD and look as good as they sound, if not better.

It looks much better and I am sure anything Buddha has to sound better than the stock pickups.
