Thank you! Yeah usually lately I have just been picking up my Strat and wailing. I’m going dedicate the majority of my playing for the foreseeable future to stick to glassy cleans with a focus on chord melodies and bee-bopuwmcscott wrote:Good things come to those who are patientGlad it worked out for both of you and that both guitars are now getting played. Very nice tune and playing too - refreshing to hear that style of music.

I’m telling you, it sure is something. Hung it up on the wall next to my others and my wife said that one doesn’t belong. It’s too pretty!JeffBeck wrote:It sounded like you were enjoying it. Nice job.brentona wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:07 amHa! It brings me to a place of appreciation my brother!! I was going to do what I had to to replace it in a loose term. But I was afraid I’d be bitter with the result. I INSTANTLY took too this guitar. 100%JeffBeck wrote:Well, I'm certainly glad it made it to you and in good shape. And now you'll always have a story to go along with it, even though I know it was a stomach-acid churning wait for you!

I got this:

And we are both very happy.
We each had a guitar sitting around not being played.
Now they are both being played.

"Drama #1" in the New AGF! To be told and retold infinitely into the future with hyperbole and outright embellishments, becoming seared into the collective culture., like that tattoo of the awful ex-lover which can never be successfully covered up, but nevertheless remains respected for it's awfulness....

I´m glad you finally get it! Enjoy that beauty. Nice playing, man...makes me wonder what I´m doing herebrentona wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:27 pm Alright! So if you followed the high drama of this instrument’s arrival, you know this has been a long time comin’.
This here is a Gretsch 6122-1959. I’m in love. Falls right under my fingers just the way it should. Without further ado!
Looks like the app I use on my phone for the forum nuked some of the quality.
I had played the guitar for about 45 minutes before recording a small clip. There are some boo boo’s but I wanted to share anyway -
Cheers!

That super easy to play part comes from a combination of a "Gretsch neck" and the "zero fret".
As you get to know it better, I think you will find it excels at Rock-a-billy and jazz tones
thanks to $300 worth of T.V. Jones pickups coming as standard equipment.

It’s just all around exceptional. I’m sorry it never filled a part of your heart, but it sure is fitting mine, brothermickey wrote:That super easy to play part comes from a combination of a "Gretsch neck" and the "zero fret".

GREAT! It deserves the attention it never got from me!
(Just as the 000-28 deserves the attention it never got from you.)
May it give you many years of pleasure!

Great to see a happy ending to this 'drama'. Such a beautiful guitar and great playing and sounds from her.
