I turned 66 a week ago. I've been reflecting on life and some of my friends who are no longer with us.

loved the vibe of the song. Dark topic but a reality for all of us.

It started out very dark in a minor key. It was way too dark. I changed it to a major key. I wanted to get across that death is part of life and remembering those who have passed keeps them alive in our memories.

Appropriate that I come home and find this post. Thanks for the share.

I just got in from the funeral of a friend I have known for 36 years. He had been in the rehab/nursing home for the last 4-5 months. We had many talks before over those 36 years, and many phone visits since he went in after his second stroke. When I got the news he had passed, I was instantly happy for him, and sad for the rest of us who love him. He has been ready to go for a while. As he put it "I am not trying to rush things, but I am ready to go right now, or any time the Lord is ready for me."

It was graveside only, no funeral home. The Baptist preacher preached a fine sermon, and there was a 4 person military honor guard present and they did a fine job as well. I finally got to meet Mack's Mom, who is 100 years old. There was quite a crowd.

Enjoyed the song Kerry. Thanks!

Thank you for this story. This is where my head was writing the song. Our friends will always be alive in our memories.
