Here’s a song I wrote as a quarantine collaboration. I wrote the basic song structure, added drums and vocals then sent off to a couple of friends for guitar and bass. It’s not quite finished... but close enough to get the idea.

We met in the middle of a thunderstorm,
Even though I caused it, you came along for the ride.
Lightning flashes and sheets of rain,
It was fight or flight and you stayed right by my side.

The rivers raged and the fires blazed,
Whipped up by the wind, the beauty of the chaos shone.
The maelstrom came to wash the mist away,
I had to stand and face it, but I didn’t have to stand alone.

No end in sight, it never looked good
For a happy ever after a la Hollywood.
It really didn’t look like we’d make it through,
But I never saw the bad side of you.

The storm subsided and the war began,
It was a battle inside, against, and for my mind.
There’s no lashing out at enemies within,
So, I unloaded on the nearest friend I could find.

No end in sight, it never looked good
For a happy ever after a la Hollywood.
It really didn’t look like we’d make it through,
But I never saw the bad side of you.

Nice work Milkman. I especially like the lyrics, but it is all well done.
