It's pretty obvious that I'm leaning hard into Tony Iommi on this tune, and especially the opening riff. The funny thing is, while I love Sabbath, I'd never thought of Tony as one of my major influences. I mean, there are guys to which I have devoted intense study, and who I was consciously trying to sound like . . . but he's not one of them. The fact that an Iommi vibe comes out of my playing is a testament to how deep and pervasive his influence is. His legendary metal riffs are deep grooves in my brain.
