20 something degrees in South Florida is definitely not normal. Reminded me of Band Of Brothers, (epic show if you haven't seen it)specifically the Bastogne episode so I decided to re-imagine the soundtrack to some of the battle scenes. ;)

Merry Xmas & I Hope you enjoy!

Very evocative tune. I love Band Of Brothers. When the heaviness comes in I can see those German 88 mm shells bursting amongst the treetops and throwing up big hunks of frosted earth.

It's been unusually cold here in the Carolinas and I've had to take special measures to ensure the safety of the outdoor cats. Got down to 8 degrees the other night. I've got a couple space heaters that have been running wide open throttle for at least three days in the out-buildings where they are sheltered. I've got several electric blankets in there too.

Last night mrs toomanycats received a text from Duke Energy requesting that we throttle back our energy consumption because the grid is being stressed. My thoughts are that maybe all the Clark Griswalds in my neighborhood should power down their ostentatious lighted holiday displays before people like us are forced to turn off our life preserving heat.

I knew someone who kept 2 cats outside in a small doghouse sized structure, perhaps with foam board under roof ply, perhaps with foam board inside walls too....hard to remember. He used a heating pad inside with a rug layer over it. They were toasty, survived many NH winters as outside cats on the dudes porch. I think his wife was allergic to them. Best wishes to keeping your lodgers in good shape.
