I had two main hang-ups when I started this project:
1) By the time I found the sweet spot on my low-watt amp, it was too loud.
2) I've never been happy with my bridge pickup.

Let's start with no. 1...
After listing to your suggestions, doing some YouTube deep dives (worthless) and making a call to Weber, I purchased a DT10. It took awhile to get here because they build them one at a time by hand. I didn't know that. I asked for it to be "broken in" which they did. They also suggested playing it 12-24 hours to finish the job. Besides playing during my free time, I piped some guitar rock through the amp at a reasonable volume to help move things along.

So what happened? The speaker had lower headroom (nice!) and produced a crisper tone. I'd say that I was 72% there. This leads me to...

No. 2. The Pick-ups
@andrewsrea (Rob) from AMI and I had a great conversation which led to the purchase of a set of "Greenies." I had a tech drop them in this morning (I have no skilz) and then ran home to try them out. The pickups got me the rest of the way "there" (28% if you're doing the math). What were uninspired, muddled mids are now crisp, clear, well-rounded notes. I love it.

The videos:

This one is a comparison of the original configuration with the new one (DT10 and Greenies). The volume was on 4.5 on both recordings. The short video ends with a quick, 30-second "runnin' on 10" comparison. What the video can't impart is the clarity of the overdriven notes and the inspiration that I felt when playing. That amp on 10 with this set-up is a thing of beauty.

Oh. My decible level on "10" with the new rig is much lower than it was with the earlier version.

If you are interested, this one is a side-by-side comparison of just the Eminence Cannibus Rex and new Weber DT10. The speaker made a BIG difference.

Sorry to bump but this didn't last on the feed for more than a few hours.

Much improved Tommy. I'd say that mid mud is gone and the tone is much more crisp and articulate. Weber is a good choice. I know nothing about the pup you chose. Good on you for over coming the Fender amp tone I do not like without changing amps. Fender should be giving Ted a call.

BTW I admire your video making skillz too. I would have no idea how to make those videos. Long live the PBJ!

Very nice improvement. Dont forget to mess with your pup height and pole piece heights for finest fidgetings across strings.

The pickups he chose, were my build. AMI is my 'hobby business' name since 1985: Andrews Music Innovations. Greeny's is one of my designs which came from me experimenting with pickups, until I found a set which nailed the nuances of Peter Green's burst (mainly Mayhall recording) in my own LP. I've built them out of phase for various people, but found they sound just as good, in-phase.
