Where do you buy your vinyls?

I guess I could a said records, but now we all have to live with it
Anyway, I usually use Amazon for most new releases or a local flea market/peddlers mall or Discogs. However, I'm having some trouble finding a good copy of Slave to the Grind for a good price, and sold from the US.
Anyway it got me to wondering aside from trying to find it, where do you guys like to get your vinyl?
Also do we have a thread to post setups and collections? I think that'd be pretty cool.
Obviously I know to post some kind of pics for you filthy animals.
Below the record player is my most listened to, but I have a box in the bedroom that's full. The stack on top is actually on loan from a friend and I can't get him to take them back lol.

I have a few hundred, collecting dust. Few turntables, collecting dust. If i see a old Black Sabbath, Zep, Rush, Stones, Floyd at the flea market for a $1, i buy it. I've gotten some original first/second pressings.

The plural of vinyl is actually still vinyl
. I think I might be one of the biggest vinyl junkies on here...just over 1,000 records in the collection. For new releases from lesser known aka not rich artists I typically just buy direct from them (sometimes it's a little pricier than Amazon, but the artist gets way more from sales off their own website); but I use Amazon for some of the bigger releases and Ebay/Discogs if it's something a little harder to find.
My first time buying vinyl was pretty intense...this was probably 2013 or so and I had just been gifted my first turntable by a girl I was dating at the time. I was walking to a flea market near me in hopes of kick starting the record collection and 2 blocks away from it there was a guy out on his stoop with like 3-4 boxes full of records. I was expecting the usual Barbara Streisand discography and 7 worn copies of Frampton Comes Alive, but as it turned out he had the boxes full of near mint rock records - Genesis, Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Who, Aerosmith, etc. He was selling them for like $4 a piece, I asked how much he wanted for the whole lot to go enjoy his afternoon and ended up with about 40 records for $60. Today they're probably worth about 15 times that.
Over time the collection has grown and now vinyl is pretty much the only way I ever listen to music at home (aside from blu ray concerts). Gotta get some pics of the vinyl corner up here sometime soon.

slowhand84 I started collecting ~10 years ago, I've got a bunch of random stuff, mostly funk and classic rock, a little metal. We used to have a little cd/aux/radio/turntable that our ferret and cat we had at the time crashed into and broke, but now I got the Yamaha a few years ago and replaced the needle about 2 or 3 years ago. If I had more money I'd definitely have more vinyl than house.
The girlfriend's really wanting Slave to the Grind for the collection, I saw they've got a special run coming out for record store day, so it looks like I'm gonna be lining up for that lol.
mozz I've only been lucky enough to find a copy of paranoid for $8, a few other good deals but people in my area will literally throw a 15+ year old white t-shirt up with the original price tag of $5 and ask $10 or $20

I've had good luck at estate sales for vinyl, although you have to be there early as guys around here are like vultures if there are records for sale. Other than that we have a couple record stores around here, one is very large and has been around a long time. And I'll do Amazon/Walmart for new releases sometimes. Fun hobby.

Bought this one yesterday for $1 at the Salvation Army. To clarify . . . the vinyl, not the cat. Got him for free. Heck, you can't even give a cat away. Great record in pretty good condition. Champs É (pronounced "Shaun Z") ain't too bad either, though if he keeps pissing on the settee he's going down the road soon to get his furry little walnuts snipped.

Very similar situation here. Turntable got broken many years ago. Bought a "new old stock" my aunt and uncle had back in the warehouse of their business. It was so old I had to find a new belt before it would work, even coming new right out of the box. Listened to some stuff I loved, but as CD collection grew and then youtube had more and more content I rarely fire the turntable up any more. Would maybe need to buy another new belt for it at this point, just not sure.
There used to be some used record stores in this area. I really don't know if there are any more. A buddy of mine had over 5000 albums last I heard. He eventually converted them all to digital. Not sure what he did with the vinyl.

I don't buy vinyl, but I gave away between 600 & 700 a couple of years ago.

Vinyl is to digital what a real book is to kindle.
Vintage vinyl: The experience of the complete body of work as it was originally intended to be experienced by the artist, from the album cover art, to the texture of the cardboard, the gatefold, the inner jacket, the liner notes, the lyrics, the credits and acknowledgements, watching the label spin in circles on the turntable, listening to the songs in the intended order (because it's inconvenient to go across the room and lift the needle), and oh yes, the sound.
A real book: The tactile feel, the paper, the smell, the linearity, the fonts. You can have an argument with a book, highlight it, underline in it, dog ear it, throw it across the room, get a circular stain from a coffee cup used as a placeholder on it.

well, pre-covid my favorite place to buy vinyl was a band's merch table after a show!
if i order new vinyl online i typically buy directly from the label
i do enjoy browsing a brick and mortar shop if the occasion arises. amoeba in hollywood and third man in nashville stand out in my memory. there are a few record stores and swaps in my area that i need to take more advantage of when/if things ever get back to normal
finally, if anyone asks me for a birthday/christmas, etc. gift suggestion - i usually tell them vinyl
i have slowed down my record buying lately as i don't have a ton of space left to store them

pratteman I use YT Music for car rides and such, I'll usually browse a little on YouTube when I'm bored or something, but if I'm in the mood for a few hours of tunes, I'm putting some inches (Feet? Yards? Miles? Meters? Kilometers?) on the belts in my turntable.
Sounds like you have your own little record shop though, I'd never be able to pick an album to listen to with that kinda selection though, I already struggle with the (probably) less than 100 I have.
