I am 90% sure I wrote a PM to someone, here, and it does not appear in my user panel in "Sent" or "Outbox" or "Draft".
Anybody else encounter such behavior?

Yes, I messed it up a couple times. I think you have to be sure to hit "SUBMIT." If you hit Post Reply, I think it disappears into the ether and you have to re-write it.
I had one time where it happened exactly like you said, where I thought I sent it, but I never did. It just disappeared. I had another one where I think I actually replied back to myself instead of sending it to the other person.
I'm still getting used to it all.
I have been driving for 35 years. My car is a 2010. It has keys that you turn. Imagine my surprise when I got in my stepdaughter's car and couldn't figure out how to turn the dang thing on! AND I TAUGHT HER HOW TO DRIVE! She had to teach me how to turn the car on! I was mortified.
Same thing here, sorta, I guess... New toys, new learning curve.

Is there any way to get an email notification of a PM? In the early days of this forum, I used to get emails, but haven't lately.

I tried to reply to someone a couple of times a while back and if it ever went through I can't find any evidence of it. It may be what I call "Old man shit", or it may be a glitch. We had been conversing for several PMs just fine before that last reply "problem".
I never bothered to try to reply in that conversation since the 2nd failed attempt.

Yes, in your User CP you can choose what type of notifications you receive for different things.

I'm glad you know so much about this software (that I do not.)

When I get a chance to breathe after work has taken its chunk of me, I'll do some quick guides

I had that happen to me when I sent a PM to Patrick. When he didn't reply after a couple of days, I checked my inbox and there was no evidence of a sent PM. I don't remember what I did the first time, but it went through the second time I sent it.

Recently, I have tried to send PM's to members. I hit submit and they show up in the outbox but not in my sent folder. Weird. Maybe it's just LightWingStudios
. I have sent him 2 pm's recently and they don't show in my sent folder.

Once the person you sent it to accesses the PM, it moves to your sent folder.
It is a way of telling whether your message has been read or not.
outbox = unread
sent = read.

Ah, thanks Mickey.
