We were living in England when Python started. I fell in love with it immediately, but my wife didn't understand it.
Python was on BBC about 10 pm & I ALWAYS woke my wife laughing!
She did NOT appreciate that!

I have a couple of French Canadian coworkers who just don't get Python at all. I pity them.

Of course, I never got Codco, and Newfoundlanders think it's hysterical.

Python is like the three stooges in that married women simply do not get the humor.

All hail the flying circus.
We should have a forum search for the holy grail of cheap guitars.

If I could find a community like that with such a common sense of humor, I'd never move.

I couldn’t be happier that we have a Python thread, thanks Mickey.

I’ll never forget seeing this oft-forgotten sketch for the first time, as a kid, I couldn’t have laughed any harder...

What about the dead parrot. I hate penguins. The guy crashing on his bike while on trip. Let's not forget Search for the holy grail . Bring out your dead.

Monty Python In Search of the Holy Grail is the best pot smoking movie of all time. At least that is what a friend told me.

First time I saw it I was stoned. So I would have to agree. But that was back in the 70s.

That is a picture of me at every castle in Monty Python's Holy Grail except one.
The last one in the movie was a different castle.
All the others were Castle Doune Stirling Scotland.
This picture was made a few years before the movie, it is in better shape today.
This is because thousands of Python fans from all over the world visit it every year
giving them the budget to do a lot of repairs & upgrades.

The last castle in the movie was Castle Stalker (or Stalcaire in Gaelic), which, as far as my research has gone, was very likely my family's castle prior to the 1600's. It belonged to the Stewart of Appin clan, and as the story goes, was lost in a drunken bet with the Campbell's, who were long time adversaries of the Stewart's over the years. I'm hoping to go see it one day, it was purchased and restored back in the 60's, and is still open to the public during various parts of the summer.

That castle is clearly built on a swamp, atop the remains of three other castles.

"..but the fourth one stayed up!"

Perhaps we should defuse interpersonal controversies on the board by seguing into the argument sketch. "I came here for an argument", "No you didn't...." , "Oh, I'm sorry, this is abuse".

Lol, the Stoning scene is fantastic. John Cleese screaming out "Blasphemer!" just kills me every time...
