Gig bag recommendations?

I'm looking for a new gig bag, because I have come to realize that the one I have (a Road Runner) is just not that great - the padding is much thinner than I am comfortable with.
Anybody got a recommendation for a high-quality gig bag?
- should fit Strats and Les Pauls
- protection of the guitar is job #1
- useful pockets are also desirable
- backpack and/or shoulder straps are important

I am no expert and want one for my Jazz bass / Epiphone Casino which do not fit in standard size bags, so I am interested in the replies!

I have a couple by Gator and love them. They are nicely padded and have protected my prize acoustics well. I think they are the Transit Series.

I concur with Gator, and can recommend the 4G series also.
There's also a company (which I think is defunct) called Flight Form that was making gig bags for a while, and the one I have is nice. 20mm padding, and tough outside shell.
Fender also makes the FE620 for electrics, which is a step up from their cheapies, and pretty decent.

I've been very happy with these Thomann Premium gigbags. The problem is the shipping cost now. I bought a few of these with the old shipping method, where they were thrown in the box with 3 guitars and didn't cost more for shipping.

That Thomann bag is cheap enough, I check out total cost to me including shipping and it was under $100. 30mm is pretty nice padding.
