I saw AL play this last Sunday at a small club near me. Spouse surprise idea.

Fine evening. Fine gentleman.
I saw him play at two folk/roots festivals in past few years, much larger outdoor venues.

I see the playing he is known for, but to me, his voice and emotion rendering is what gets me there!

As an example, one tune's lyrics had the word "trouble". AL's singing the word was not just the word itself, there was an atmosphere within it, as, trouble is complicated, hard.
Difficult to describe, to me it was palpable.

He has a better voice than I imagined (I've only seen him play guitar). Speaking of guitars, his is pretty nifty.

I've eyeballed those Ernie Ball Albert Lee guitars back in the day but never purchased one. I like they way they look. I bet that was a fun show!
