I heard about this.
We're gonna have to walk a fine line if this thread is to continue, so be careful guys.
From FAQ:
Who is the manufacturer of these guitars?
All of the guitars featured on GetTrumpGuitars.com were custom designed and developed by a Veteran owned company with the help of a master luthier. These guitars have been manufactured by multiple providers and include parts/features that are both domestic and international. This is standard with most guitar manufacturers.
So... Indonesia?

Yes, we will need to walk a fine line, but I saw this as humorous. I suspect the guitars are of Chinese origan, I have a few brands with that same headstock and they are MIC...tlarson58 wrote: βThu Nov 21, 2024 7:57 am I heard about this.

Likewise, trying not to be political here, but it did occur to me that tariffs are likely to hit the guitar market quite hard. Chinese-made lower-priced gear particularly, but given that the proposed tariffs cover all imports, pretty much everything's going to be affected one way or the other. Get your Thomann orders, your MIJ stuff, your Godins now...
I think almost all of Thomann's guitars now come from Indonesia, at least the last dozen or so that I've ordered in the past few years have.
And while I suppose imports from Indonesia will also be affected, China is supposedly going to really get clobbered...

So let me make sure I understand correctly - We have the American Eagle Series, Presidential Series, and "God Bless the USA" series guitars, priced between 1-10 grand, that also happen to be made overseas? Even if it weren't a political figure behind the concept, it's such a blatant/jingoistic money grab that it makes me throw up in my mouth a little just looking at the website.

"This Les Paul guitar is the absolute best. Other Les Paul's are great. This one is better. Much, much better. Bigly better. All the guitar heroes around the world, will want to play my guitar. Enemies of the United States will tremble in fear, and respect, from your licks produced on this guitar. Simply spectacular. None better."

Tariffs were already placed on them in 2018. China responded by lowering the tariffs on in-kind US goods via a trade agreement, in trade for the US lowering its tariffs, and by absorbing the difference from their prices so they can remain highly competitive in the US market. In many products and services, China's goal is to eliminate the global competition at all costs. Many of their businesses surprisingly operate on negative profit schemes for decades, to clobber the competition. I know this firsthand to be true in the camping and outdoor product market, as my best friend's wife (now a US citizen) was the CEO for two decades, of the #3 producer in the world which was headquartered in Shanghai. She would tell me how they operated at a loss, per the direction of the CCP government.glasshand wrote: βThu Nov 21, 2024 11:01 amLikewise, trying not to be political here, but it did occur to me that tariffs are likely to hit the guitar market quite hard. Yes and yes. I didn't go that far in my responses due to the forum rules And TBH, these facts are even a little more "throw up in the back of your mouth" than the actual website. But I like my membership here so I'll leave it there.

Will there be a package deal or maybe a free bible if you order 2 or more guitars ?
I wonder how many have to be bought to get a pair of those gold hi-top sneakers or a watch.Tonray's Ghost wrote: βThu Nov 21, 2024 4:24 pm Will there be a package deal or maybe a free bible if you order 2 or more guitars ?

Well in that case I'll wait for the SQB finish option (Snowflake Quilt BookMatched). Ok I'm done...but kudos to all here, this is the only site in existence that can take a sensitive topic and make it fun for all (most) of us without going off the rails. Now googling for Kamala MIDI keyboard special Hunter Biden artist signature edition ...OK OK...I'm done.dabbler wrote: βThu Nov 21, 2024 7:05 pmUmmm, take your pick...Tonray's Ghost wrote: βThu Nov 21, 2024 6:14 pmWait...we are talking about right handedness (dextral) or left handedness (sinistral) here, right ?

Seems a little pricey for an import but I suppose it depends on the quality. Epi, Eastman and several others have some models MIC that are comparably priced. No way to know until it is in hand. I bought a used no frills model Gibson LP Jr a month ago for $800. I had a new Eastman LP Jr in my hands around the same time and it was priced at $1599. It seemed to be worth every penny but I would still opt for a made in USA Gibson.

I love the irony of whoever is selling this. Patriotic American guitars, made in Indonesia.tonebender wrote: βFri Nov 22, 2024 4:05 pm Seems a little pricey for an import but I suppose it depends on the quality. But remember that the Trump endorsed Bible, according to AP, was shipped to the US at a cost of approx. $3 per unit (https://archive.ph/20241010042153/https ... 64bbcace4c) so, I guess when you add in the licensing fees... well, I'll leave the math to others.tonebender wrote: βFri Nov 22, 2024 4:05 pm Seems a little pricey for an import but I suppose it depends on the quality.
