Oasis Reunion

As giddy as I am about the likely reunion (there's still a good deal of time to break up before next summer's tour dates), I sure would like to see them put out an album to support during the gigs.

I Love this...

From The Rolling Stone (August 26, 2024)

After years of public discord, what motivated Liam and Noel Gallagher to reunite?

The short answer is probably “money.” The slightly longer answer is probably “an ungodly amount of money.” If they’re willing to spend a couple of years on the road, the Gallagher brothers could rake in somewhere in the ballpark of $300 million, which is what recent stadium tours have earned some artists. And that will come in very handy to Noel Gallagher in the aftermath of his divorce to wife Sara MacDonald, which cost him a reported $25 million in addition to their $8 million house.

Another bump. Posted at 11:30. Off the board by 4:00.

Not sure what's going on. This happens all of the time.

I read an article about this and it had a wonderful British insult, when Noel said of Liam "he's a man with a fork in a world of soup."

I like their music. Wonderwall is on my solo acoustic gig set list from time to time.

I don't dislike their music, though I've got to admit, my main interest in an Oasis reunion is similar to why I find Black Friday amusing — the entertaining fights.

I am not familiar with the drama. I know so little about pop culture. So often I hear a band do a song and have to ask, "who does that song?"

Hugely entertaining drama. IIRC when they were supposed to play MTV Unplugged, Liam backed out, and Noel played. Liam sat in the audience, had a few, and heckled his brother.

I give the whole thing a 50 percent chance of lasting, though there have to be contractual penalties if they lose it on each other.
