It would be interesting if they gave the cars to the teams two hours beforehand and let them mofify away.

No, that's not the idea. All on same equipment so even game, keeps cost down, makes for fun series.

Plus you can't modify race cars in two hours, safety and all.

You can still catch race 1, which was a lot of fun!
