We had a blast last evening. Lots of folks turned out and there was a lot of energy in the room. Frosty sat in with us too.

Do you bring a backup amp? Mine has never given me a problem but the horror stories I hear on the 'net make me pause.

Most gigs I carry my Fender SCXD as a back up. I have had the Gibson Goldtone 1x12 combo a little less than a year and was not certain about it. I am starting to have confidence that it is reliable. There is another one just like mine but a little rougher shape, for sale on the local CL for $500. The seller may take less as they often do. What a great sounding amp. They fly under the radar but if you are a low wattage tube amp guy this amp is the bomb.

I have been thinking about getting a pedalboard or floor based SS amp for a back up and rigging a pigtail to utilize the speaker in the Gibson it the combo were take a crap during a gig. I used to have a Vox Night Train (first version) with the speaker cable pigtail and actually had to use it a couple of time. Once the tranny in my Delta Blues blew in the middle of a gig while we were playing Mustang Sally. I blamed the song.
