Actually, North Andover, Massachusetts.
But, c'mon, you can't tell me every guitar player who drives into that town isn't thinking the same thing I'm thinking.

Notice how this sign is slightly imperfect. The town picked it up as a b-stock. The pole is stable.

It was years ago that I notice my hair was also my favorite guitar. I call it "The Gibson". Scooby approves.

That sign looks like an Agile headstock.toomanycats wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2023 11:51 am Notice how this sign is slightly imperfect. The town picked it up as a b-stock. The pole is stable.

I just noticed after all these years that the left-handed Agile headstock top edge is a mirror image of the right-handed one. I wonder why a right-handed headstock wasn't used to reduce the cost. I doubt many would even pick up on that, I didn't until just now. Rickenbacker doesn't bother on their tailpieces, the "R" is upside down on left-handed models...

Claremont is the town Rondo moved to when they left NJ. I assume the sign is a tribute to Agile guitars.
As for the lefty headstock, I don't think it adds much if any cost to have both these days. Just flip the CAD drawing so you have left and right versions to feed the CNC machine.
Are there lefty truss rod covers for the ones with model numbers on them? I never noticed!

Bingo! I knew some astute AGFer would get it. Also notice the date of the towns establishment, "3100."Chocol8 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 9:58 am Claremont is the town Rondo moved to when they left NJ. I assume the sign is a tribute to Agile guitars.

Full disclosure: I made up that Agile Claremont sign. Did some of you guys actually think it was real?
Now the Gibson headstock looking sign for North Andover, that is real, and yeah . . . why doesn't Gibson sue them?!?!

That Claremont sign would not hold resale value on the used sign market.

I just noticed that my Monogram MR820-G which is Chinese copy of a Rick 620 that's made by a Japanese company for the Japanese market has the R on the tailpiece with the correct orientation:

That is pretty surprising for Rickenbacker, especially knowing the Chickenbacker gets it right (or left if I may).

I really don't like the fact that there's a Rickenbacker R logo on a guitar that isn't one (the TRC logo says "Monogram"). The few times I've gone to Ali Express for a model that didn't have a lefty version, I insisted on no logo, no serial number and no fake "made in USA" (in the case of a Gibson). I've got a generic short trapeze tailpiece to replace that one, just have to find the time...tonebender wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 6:54 am That is pretty surprising for Rickenbacker, especially knowing the Chickenbacker gets it right (or left if I may).
