After reading the esteemed @toomanycats' thread about "She's Tight" I thought about the song I have been obsessed with of late, which effing rocks:

I know it wasn't their most popular album, but this song is a banger no matter how you slice it.

So, what song or songs currently have you hitting the repeat button?

Other than the mentioned Cheap Trick song, I've also been listening to Rainbow's "Stone Cold" on repeat. I even took the time to learn the solo note-for-note. Such a perfect solo, with beautiful Strat through a Plexi tone, so emotional and expressive. It's essentially a bluesy solo with some aeolian flavor mixed in, with utterly masterful pacing. Ritchie is the man.

This is a new song that is on our "about to be released record". It is called Side Door To Heaven. The song is about a guy who is making a request for someone to hide him a key to the Pearly Gates hidden somewhere nearby in the bushes because he is not sure he will get though on his own merit. Apparently he was a partying rock n roller that may not qualify.

It is a little different than some of our stuff. It is my new favorite song and I am obsessed with it not because it is ours but because it is so much fun to play. You can tell I am into this song because I almost start to have moves like Jagger when it starts. That is me on the left, but you guys recognized the LP Jr.

This is not that old, and it´s in Spanish, by Santana -featuring mexican band Mana-. "Corazón Espinado". I listen to it regularly - obsessed mode lately -, and have memorized all the parts and have always wanted to play it. That time has finally came. Here you have the studio version, and a link to my cover in the Jam Room section (I used a live track, it has more "feeling"). The song mixes latin and rock rhythms.

Studio version:

Well, for this afternoon anyway as I'm putting it on sheet music for the guys. Once in a while I'll bring a song to practice to see if we can play it. I think that we'll nail this one:

** Update **
'Nailed it and have vowed to never, ever play it again. :)

My Spanish is a little rusty but doesn't "Corazón Espinado" mean "the lost slipper?"

Kidding. Cool song. You've got monster chops.

"Flick of the switch" was one of my favorites, many people don't care for it. Same with "Fair warning"

As to what song am i obsessed with right now? The one stuck in my head for a week, from Billy Joel, "Movin out", i may have to go to Urgent Care for some Clairitin or something stronger.

This one. I watched that Australian music doc a few days ago, and now am on an Easybeats kick.

It's driving me nuts.

There are some great contemporary videos of Joe Lynn Turner doing Stone Cold, he's still got it.

A lot of people fawn over Dio, but Joe Lynn Turner is one of the most underrated vocalists, especially when paired with Blackmore.

In preparation to and expand my own writing skills, I've been enamored with songs where the lyrics don't rhyme, or use near rhymes and skip a beat, breaking the 4/4 (quirky). In as such this one is an underrated catchy song and on my frequently played list: Crowded House "The World Where You Live".

I don't know what guitar is it. I'll try to do a research.

Looks like it´s one of the several PRS Santana guitars. I didn´t know there were several models, actually.

The body looks like a PRS but I could get a good look at the headstock but what I could see seemed different than a PRS.

Bird inlays. Unless its a PRS in the sense of "Peoples Republic of Shina," it's a PRS Santana.

I have paused that video in numerous spots and that headstock is definitely not the traditional shape of a PRS but the rest of the guitar is all PRS. I wonder if he had one made for him that has a custom headstock shape. It does appear to be the typical bird inlays on the fretboard like a PRS. That headstock looks a lot like an old Ibanez shape like this one.

Most Cosmic Psychos shows are not quite this rowdy, but the one I saw was close, and this song is a definite earworm.
(The video begins partway through because the beginning is a bit shambolic - I think somebody steps on the guitarist's cable.)
