He was a regular on the old board. I cant remember his handle..
He was famous (in my mind) for his meltdown over bad customer service with some string company.

He was also a frequent and valuable contributor.
And now that I think of it...what about Snarph? Real name Steven or Stephan?

Can't remember his username? Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he a pedal junkie? Always buying new ones and selling on the board?
Edit: Perfect Stranger?

I think I have Jim's contact info. We spoke and exchanged texts many times. He is a good guy and lives in Georgia. I was always trying to get by and see him for a meet up but never could make it happen. We did some trading and buying and selling from each other. He was always unloading a nice pedal. He kept everything in pristine condition.

I bought stuff from Stephen (snarph) too. Great to deal with. Neither have participated much since the migration. Honestly, my time here fell off quite a bit too but lately I have been trying to contribute more often.

Is Mickey still around? I haven't seen any posts from him since I started coming back around.

Hi Mickey! I hope you are well my friend.
Agreed, hope things are going OK for you in the Sister City :-)

I do remember Jim (Perfect Stranger) all too well - he was one of the few people here that I ended up getting in some pretty bitter arguments with on old versions of the site. In hindsight most of them were really stupid things to be arguing about but he did send some PM\s to me that were way over the line. Even back then though he self-admitted that his online persona was fueled by some real world issue/demons. In any case he was certainly part of the history of AGF and developed positive relationships with many here. And full disclosure I had a few demons in my head back during that time so perhaps we can meet again some day to bury the hatchet Jim/PS

I recently posted a thread to sell some pedals in the appropriate forum here and while there, I took a look around and noticed a post from PS (Jim) from 2021. I didn't get the best feeling from it, based on the way he started out his thread: "It has reached that time where I am going to sell the majority of my stuff." :(

I looked for his contact number but it is one that I lost. My phone dumped many of my contacts into my wife's phone. She had to give permission, she said one day it asked and she said no but it did it anyway. No telling what she did, not being that tech savvy. She wanted them gone so I deleted them all and when I did it deleted them from my phone too. Hundreds of them. What a PITA. I was able to review text messages and re-establish a great deal of them but if I did not have a text then they were lost until they called me again. Jim's must have been one of them. I hope he is okay.

I had my PS interaction that soured from the word go. I think he had a med situation. He might have been my only blocked member on the old site.

Good to know, I am not on FB. Thanks. I do use messenger and this prompted me to look and the last time I messaged him was May 2021 when we were in Helen GA. I asked if he wanted to meet for lunch since we were in his area but he never responded.

I was thinking there's definitely another Jim out here in Missouri. But he's nothing like perfect stranger. I can't remember his handle here but I text him occasionally.

His epic meltdown over his lack of customer service from a string company was Top 10 in the Old AGF.
I bought a Harm1 from him.

"Top 10 in the old AGF" needs to be a thread, maybe even with multiple categories.

Some of my nominations would include

1. The Harpmaster/AJL saga - probably could be a separate category into itself

2. Musician's Friend Bugera amp blowout/ensuing catastrophes

3. The guy who used to build really nice amps that ended up burning his trailer down with everything inside

4. "AGF Survivor"

Good memory! There was another guy who was a total troll and ended up getting into a knock down - drag out with a few people and got 'excommunicato.'

Big Pig Dave, and there was a med student, I think his name was Chuck. I bought 12-string Harm from him. Rich man's bastard. Patrick that fixed. built and modded amp. Funny I remember their names but not their user names.

That's John. Jim/James. Last name starts with Sch. Might be Schaffner.
