We were invited to play in the line up with several local and touring original music bands. The promoter heard us on the innerwebs and wanted us in the line up. We were different from all the rest of the bands, both our age and our genre of music but we were very well received and told by several i attendance we were the favorite. The staff gave us great feedback too. There was lots of talent there, some of these young guys can rip it up. I think it was organized by a band called Make My Blood Dance out of New York. The venue is one of Tampa's long time rock clubs. I had never played there but finally at the age of 65 I got to take that stage. It was awesome. We played for 25 minutes and included three songs off our upcoming record.

It was just a very cool experience. Fans wanted group pics with the band when we finished our set and were very complimentary. Here is how old school we were, we actually sold CD's at the merch table. We moved quite a few so people must still have a player. Here are some pics from the show.

My LP Jr is silver but always looks another color in pics. This time it almost looks that TV white yellow color. All the lights were blue in the front.

Looks great.

Cool story!

But your pic of the band has left me curious. Could you kinda explain your percussionist's setup?

Our drummer often uses the cocktail kit. Kick on the bottom and snare on the top. Works great and he really can get a lot out of that thing. This venue supplied the drum kit but required all the drummers to bring their own snare, cymbals, kick pedal, sticks, etc. It was just easier for him to walk that thing out, plug in the snare and kick mics and start playing. We were only playing a 25 minute set so it made sense.

Thanks, for that! I guess it shows that I don't play "out" (other than church). Cocktail kit is a new term for me, but I definitely see its value! I love "right-sized" setups.

Yes I think it was captured by my band mate's GoPro. I have not seen it yet though.
