Be On the Lookout for RONDO "F Stock" (Flood Stock)

Anyone else see this pic that Kurt included in the Rondo Summer sales email yesterday?

I had noticed on the news earlier how there was severe flooding up north, and something about a dam somewhere being within a foot of cresting. In the context of all the major insanity going on it seemed like a relatively minor insanity, so I didn't dwell on it.

But the revelation that Rondo's warehouse is partially underwater . . . now that's intriguing. Kurt says the guitars are on the second floor, but water damage, mold, and mildew are insidious things. This flooding will disrupt business as usual. Guitars may need to be moved or dumped, pronto.

I'm not looking to gain by the misfortune of someone else, let alone Rondo. I sincerely hope everything is okay, the chickens are safe, or at least they've learned how to use those ten strings guitars as surf boards.

But my intuition tells me that opportunities could possibly arise due to these circumstances, and I'll be keeping my eyes open.

Somebody's gotta give them drowned guitars a dry home. And it aint gonna be Vermont. I think Vermont washed away into a giant mass-hole leaving New York is our new western neighbor. The border, Connecticut River, just got 60 miles wider.

I'm glad he seems to be taking it in stride, water damage is no joke. Although most of the Agile guitars I have owned had enough poly on them that they were probably waterproof to at least 10M ;-)

Yeah, I did happen to notice that Liquid offered at such a ridiculously low price. To flip or not to flip a lefty Liquid, that is the question. And by flip I don't mean turn it over for profit, but rather string it backwards and actually play it (as I run and duck from all the lefties throwing cats at me).

I spoke with someone who was involved in the the Great Nashville guitar flood. He cited the two biggest problems being neutralizing raw sewage and guitars 'bloating' (not only splitting but swelling up to the point where it was not worth fixing).

Having had a bass guitar in the basement get water damage (sump pump failure) I have seen the wood soak up water and the poly split. I don't remember if it was up to the lower knobs but i think it was.
