The generation of bands that burst onto the rock scene around this same time is astounding. We're talking peers of RUSH like Aerosmith, Montrose, KISS, Ted Nugget, Journey, Styx, Kansas, The New York Dolls, The Stooges. It was only several years after the late 60s cultural watermark of Woodstock that these bands totally rewrote the playbook, establishing the paradigm for almost everything that would follow until the present.
