The subject BANUGD stands for "BOUGHT A NEW USED GUITAR DAY". I have a 2017 MIK PRS SE Zach Myers semi hollow guitar but have missed my Wolf 335 copy since I sold it a couple of years ago. The PRS is a great guitar I upgraded it with a set of SD Pearly Gates, Gotoh locking tuners etc. however, it's just not the same as 335 type guitar. So perusing GC's used gear this morning I found this SX GG6 for $199 I know that's what they were new but it's not much money these days so I pulled the trigger.
Anyway, does anyone here have one or experienced one. I have parts to upgrade it pups electronics bone nut blank and so on I'm hoping it is a great guitar that just needs to be played or, it's a good mod platform.

Here's a link but it may not work GC seem to take their ads down pretty guick after it's purchased so I also grabed the picture. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/SX/GG ... -Guitar.gc

That is a good looking SX. I wonder if it was more white when it was new and it's taken in that cream hue over time.

Love my Wolf WLP-750. It's about the same color as that 335 Wolff you sold. Did your's have the old headstock emblem with the moon and howling wolf?

I lucked out she's a keeper 9lb 1oz so a little heavy her condition is much better than I had hoped for near mint. The pups are not microphonic in the least but,,,,, not the best sounding for sure the 2nd tuner is really stiff but I have a set of gold Grovers I took off something awhile back. There is something a tad puzzling about the guitar it has a bone nut that looks factory which I have a hard time believing. The frets look as if they've never been played on much could use a good polishing but that's it they don't need crowned or anything. The Rosewood fretboard needs some lemon oil the electronics are good no scratchy sound. The pups like I said at first have no terrible problems and don't really sound too bad but I wil change them I have a lot of choices but I have a set Rob wound don't remember who I bought them from but someone on the old forum I also have a set of Tim Shaw PAF I pulled out of my 83 LP as well as a bunch of others so no problem with replacing them anyway here's some pictures. I really like the Abalone/Pearl inlays

Sorry, I missed the OP when it went up. My fav SX guitars are my KY1/SIS models, but the GGs are good guitars, too!

Enjoy!

I finally had time to really check the GG6 out it was in desperate need of a set-up and had a little fret sprout going on so I took care of that and a new set of strings and I'm totally amazed at the playability of this guitar but the real surprise is the tone man this thing is amazing. I couldn't belive how it sounds I was prepared to change out the pups and electronics but no need to I don't believe I could improve it. As I said earlier it has a bone nut and the toggle switch is side to side instead of up and down which makes me think someone has been under the hood of this thing. When I change strings again I'm going to pull the pups and see if they've been changed out, they just don't sound like SX pups and I've had a bunch of SX guitars. So the mystery deepens I truly don't belive I'll find stock SX pups when I open it up but if I do these will be the best sounding SX pups I ever heard.

Killer to see a rarer sx make its way to a forum aficionado. With the upgrades I wonder if it has a connection to someone we may have known and perhaps was even documented before the old forum destruction.
