Dark Theme

Anyone know if there is an option in settings to make the forum have a dark theme?
If you find an extension to have multiple themes and want someone to write the code for you, message me.LightWingStudios wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 11:05 pmThis board only uses the standard PHPBB "style" for the foreseeable future
That's not how PHPBB works. You can install and make available as many "Styles" as you want. "Styles" are more like "skins" tho they can have modifications to the base PHPBB code which is what we use. The problem with multiple styles is maintaining them and keeping them from crashing the board because of those modifications. "Extensions" are just that...plug-in modules of code to perform a specific function...i.e....ones we have tested, installed and work...Paypal for Donations, Lightbox for pics, Reactions to posts, Tapatalk, Clipboard for pics and embedded Multimedia. Then there are the possible issues with whether of not the Extensions you've installed work across all the Styles you've installed. I appreciate the offer but right now we're good to go. We've got STABILITY.MattFireblade wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 11:32 amIf you find an extension to have multiple themes and want someone to write the code for you, message me.LightWingStudios wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 11:05 pmThis board only uses the standard PHPBB "style" for the foreseeable future
+1 for Stability and for, well having a forum. I understand the people's wants, I also live in a house that I have tried to remove "perfect" from her vocabulary, because perfect is ALWAYS followed by "but."LightWingStudios wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 1:14 pmThat's not how PHPBB works. This is not a complaint, merely a comment - the Dark Theme on old AGF is my favorite theme from any web board I have ever visited.mickey wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 2:23 pm Anyone who knows me knows I was a HUGE FAN of the dark theme on the old forum.
So the first thing I did here was switch to the dark theme. HUGE MISTAKE!
The dark theme for this software is completely SNAFU!
Probably the best example of completely SNAFU I've ever encountered in any context.
All us newbies over here who had automatically switched to the dark theme finally
convinced Patrick to switch it off!!!! Please don't convince him to turn it back on!
If you do, you'll be very, very sorry!
I'm aware. The 'skin' of a PHPBB board is just CSS, which I've done for another forum I'm on as well. No worries, but feel free to hit me up if you ever go that route, as most of the 'dark' PHPBB skins are...not great.LightWingStudios wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 1:14 pmThat's not how PHPBB works. The Dark Theme on old agf got me looking into running Dark Themes on my browsers, And windows 10 has a Dark Setting for Apps that I usually enable. It is just easier on my eyes.
Wow thanks for the tip! That's a handy add-on. Much nicer to look at now.BrianSkeezer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 7:59 pm Do a search for an add-on called Night Mode Pro. It's helped me for years when I work at night, and I've grown so used to it, I use it all the time. You can turn it off for any sites that you need to, but it'll stay on for the normal mode. Works great with the new AGF!
You're a lifesaver. That add on works wonderfully here. Thanks!BrianSkeezer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 7:59 pm Do a search for an add-on called Night Mode Pro.
