I bought these end tables today from goodwill of all places and I just cant figure out what kind of wood they are. they are def hand made but no names on them so maybe made by furniture company not sure. Im thinking the wood is vintage teak as the wood is very hard. Had to sand a few edges down with sander to get the drawers to fit right, they were very snug and few barely moved but after sanding and some soap on slides they move great. There about 50lbs each lol so def well built real solid wood furniture not like most of the trash sold now. Other than a few light scratches on top there in great shape, its dam hard wood dont see it taking scratches easily. Got them for 30.00 for the pair lol way to cheap not to buy it felt like i robbed them but they set the price.
Just wondering if anyone might know what this wood is?! My brother was a furniture builder and would know instantly but he passed away and im not as knowledgeable as him on wood types. I know they are stained with the grey color so thats def not the wood color its naturally lighter.

Can't identify the tree, but great find! That's amazing grain, and apparently all solid, so you can sand it back as much as you like and not worry.

I'm was gonna say walnut...and I googled it and found this pic

but this table ad does not specifically say walnut. It is a table sold by wayfare.
But it sure matches your two tone drawers.

nice find.

Edit..... now I'm pretty sure it's Sheesham wood. The ad does say sheesham, and I searched it and found more similar looking furniture.

they were hard to sand on are really built like a tank outside pieces is 1 3/4" and bottom of drawers are over 1/2" thick . if they would happen to fall over and get broken they would be some real pretty tele guitar slabs lol but there so well built they would break my leg and be perfect lol

It does look like the sheesham wood so it maybe that crazy name wood. hard to tell with so many asian woods in furniture now. I read its similar to teak so might be that wood its hard as hell.

Second on the walnut. I only play a carpenter once or twice a year though.
