NY Times lengthy profile of Willie Nelson

I have to admit I've never paid that much attention to Willie Nelson, but I really got drawn into the article, and I'm going to have to go listen to more of his stuff now.

Yep. They are one of those publications that will give you the first paragraph of it and then if you want the rest you have to subscribe. I guess they're not making enough $ from advertising.

And many thanks to you JL for doing exactly that! :D

They missed one of my favorite Willie stories. One of his daughters was being interviewed & was asked whether she had toured/performed with him.
She replied that she went to exactly ONE concert with him. Following the show Willie was signing autographs & there were women in line as far as she could see.
As each woman got to Willie she would "Flop them out & shout 'WILLIE SIGN MY TITS!' and I got so embarassed that I never went to another!"

My personal favorite Willie era was in the 1970's when Grady Martin was a member of The Family Band. I can't think of five guitarists who were worthy to carry Grady's guitar case!
Pity that Grady never did a solo guitar album.

I like him a lot. Cant get into his music much but he is very interesting.
