Rumor had it in Nashville those two were big buddies for years, which is rather surprising in that Roy had a reputation as a big time druggie while Gatemouth did not.
Guess it was the music that tied them together?

Oh yeah! When we lived in Nashville the "New Orleans Manor" was the poshest restaurant in town. He & Buck Trent rather famously got tossed out (as in physically ejected!)because they got into a fist fight
because they only had enough cocaine left for one of them. But stories like that tended to not leave Nashville because it would be the wrong image for Nashville.
