I randomly came across this photo the other day and found it very impactful. It's such a raw image of rock and roll embodied, with the multiple jumped Marshall Plexis, the 4X12 cabs, the Gibson Les Paul Custom, stage techs and roadies on standby, and the main subject of the composition expressing a supreme level of confidence in a majestically bold power stance. I didn't recognize who this guy was, but he was clearly some kind of Rock God.

It didn't take much research to figure out that this was Steve Marriot of Humble Pie. This photo was taken in 1974.

Tell me something I've never understood, WHY do rock players have to have their legs spread wide enough apart that their crotch must be bleeding & looking like they are really working hard
while someone like Tommy Emmanuel plays so much more music while standing upright and looking like he might fall asleep?

I believe that falls under the category of theatrical arts, which necessitates that exaggerated poses and gestures are necessary to project all the way out to the nose bleed seats in a 70,000 seat stadium.
