Got my forearm stuck to the toaster over once....lucky the toaster was not in use at the time.

I'm gonna hi-jack this already. Ok, 1 snafu first. I've glued my fingers to strat pickups on the magnets before winding.
USES FOR SUPERGLUE
Basswood or other soft wood guitars. If you even slightly overtighten the pickguard or other screws, they strip out. The trick is to take the screw out, place 1 or 2 drops of crazy glue in the hole soaking into the threads. Let dry. Then LET DRY some more. Re insert the screw carefully, some of the old threads should now be a lot stronger and enough to let you snug them up without stripping.

My big problem with superglue is that I can never use it up before it glues itself shut. It makes me feel like I paid for a lot more than I got out of it. I have even sliced it open after to get a few more drops out with a toothpick or whatever's close by.

The hospital network I work for has been asking for non-clinical salaried employees to do volunteer shifts to supplement our workforce/Covid caseload staffing issues. I got assigned to work in the ED at one of our regional hospitals last week, and one of the cases that came in was related to a small object lodged in the ear. Turns out it was a hearing aid that had somehow broken/fallen apart and a small piece of it was indeed lodged in the ear somewhere. I listened to the doctors strategizing on how to get it out as they had tried multiple instruments and techniques, but what ended up working was superglue on the end of a thin wooden stick.

If you wipe the bottle top and often squeeze air in and out until the point is clear you should have no problem reusing almost the entire bottle.

Fun fact: Super Glue was first developed as a surgical adhesive to be used in lieu of sutures in triage and battlefield surgery, but it turned out to be highly toxic to the liver, so they marketed it as a household glue instead.

I just got a bit of the higher strength structural CA glue for a project I was trying to fix and holy hell did it sting even out in the open with safety glasses on, will be using lab goggles if I use it again.

When I've been putting in lots of hours gigging and practicing, and my finger tips are worn, I frequently use superglue to form supplementary calluses. The SNAFU happens when during application it accidentally gets on the thumb and index finger of the picking hand. This makes it very difficult to hold the pick, feeling almost like the fingers are teflon coated.

Another bad thing that has happened with superglue is that it can cut like the a razors edge when hardened. More than once I've said to myself, "Where is all this blood coming from," and then realized that I was rubbing my fingers over what was equivalent to broken shards of glass.

Guess that is why they still use it to close cuts on boxers between rounds?

Well, I was told that by a doctor, and I brought up that very same thing... I was interested in just how toxic it was because I got frequent splits in my fingertips and routinely used super glue to help them heal and prevent them from splitting further, and I doubted it could be that harmful. He just looked me square in the eye and repeated: "it's very toxic to the liver". I'm not naive enough to say that doctors are always correct, and they never engage in hyperbole, but I have no reason to doubt him. Still the same, I don't freak out if I get super glue on my hands or anything (which happens often), but for some time now I've been using "Murphy's Working Hands" when I get splits instead of super glue. I think the toxicity of super glue is more of an issue when applied to traumatic internal wounds than it is when applied topically to a cut, but the Murphy's stuff works well, and I'd rather not expose myself to any toxicity if there's a better solution. I expose myself to enough toxic chemicals in the course of my work.

I live with constant O'keefe's Working Hands, Neosporin, and Coban.
I used to carry dermabond in my trauma packs but never used it. You quickly realize what is really major blood loss and just enough to freak normal people out. Nothing wrong with permissive hypotension, or that was the group think of that time.
I wonder if superglue was meant to replace sutures but found to be toxic for internal suturing.

Sorry, no pics and the hair grew back. And hopefully there will be no next time........

My old Aussie boss was super gluing door that had peeling laminate and I warned him to be careful not to get in on his hands. He game me this look like, "Do I look like an idiot?!" and basically insisted he knew what he was doing. Not 10 minutes later he comes in with his hand covered in the shit super exasperated that he can't wash it off his hands. I start laughing like a mad man. I'm laughing so hard that my abs hurt and he starts getting red in the face. I eventually calm down a bit and tell him he needs to find acetone. Dude asks me how I know this, how is he going to find it, and what's the word for it in Korean (we're in Seoul at the time). I couldn't help him on the last bit but I explained about nail polish remover and told him to call his wife (Korean-Japanese) and that she'd help him sort it out. 30 mins later covered in sweat I see him again, but his hands are in much better shape. I was right, acetone works wonders. I think the only catch is that there might've not been as much acetone in the nail polish remover as I'm used to in the US.

Miss the bloke. He killed himself a few years later.

Also, stick the bottle in the refrigerator. Lasts far longer that way.

I need some now to add with baking soda, to fill a nut slot I just cut too deep.
Bone nut must have had a soft pocket in it. I was a few slots into the nut and all of a sudden it went too deep.

An adder to this excellent tip, is to coat the screw (or what ever you don't want to get bonded) in butcher's wax. I've done this with neck screws fro bolt-on guitars.

Just once I would love to see them do that and then the opponent lands a punch and gets stuck to the other guy!

I dont think I've ever used it without it getting where I didnt want it.
Good stuff though.
I put mine in a glass jar about 1/3 filled with white rice.
I read it is the moisture in the air that cures it, and the rice keeps things dry.
