Earlier this month, Frank Marino announced his retirement from music effective immediately, due to (unspecified) health concerns. This brought sadness to me on two different levels. One, the obvious, I really like Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. The second reason is that this is the exact thing that Fullonshred and I would have discussed ad nauseum because we were both big fans. What a drag it is getting old.
Anyways, it looks like Marino is done but he does leave a final live recording for us to see/hear. https://www.mahoganyrush.net/dvd/

I never heard of him until now. But that's how I usually get turned on to bands/musicians: long after they've broken up and/or died.

Just watched the video... I dig it! I like his Stratified SG. Sounds like a Strat to me.

Never heard his name before. Liked the song, seems like I might like more of his songs. To my list he goes!

Sad to hear, as all those from that era are less in number every day.
I saw Mahogany Rush open for Kansas in the last quarter of the last century.
Didn't know who they were.
Always meant to listen to more but never did.
Think I will.
