Frank Marino

Earlier this month, Frank Marino announced his retirement from music effective immediately, due to (unspecified) health concerns. This brought sadness to me on two different levels. One, the obvious, I really like Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. The second reason is that this is the exact thing that Fullonshred and I would have discussed ad nauseum because we were both big fans. What a drag it is getting old.

Anyways, it looks like Marino is done but he does leave a final live recording for us to see/hear.

Is anyone else a big fan of Marino?

I never heard of him until now. But that's how I usually get turned on to bands/musicians: long after they've broken up and/or died.

Just watched the video... I dig it! I like his Stratified SG. Sounds like a Strat to me. :)

Never heard his name before. Liked the song, seems like I might like more of his songs. To my list he goes!

Sad to hear, as all those from that era are less in number every day.

I saw Mahogany Rush open for Kansas in the last quarter of the last century.
Didn't know who they were.

Always meant to listen to more but never did.
Think I will.
