Wow...for something that really didn't havve much of an impact as a hurricane in NJ, it sure caused a massive amount of damage.
My sister lives in central NJ, and they had 8 inches of rain in just a few hours causing the local Raritan and Millstone rivers to flood. In addition, there were several tornadoe warnings (for NJ !) that kept people sheltered in basements for hours. The flooding also caused gas pipeline ruptures in and around Manville NJ which had a history of bad flooding as it is bounded by both rivers and a canal. The gas explosions detrsoyed a few homes and businesses and because of the flooding, the fire crews could not get any equipment over there to put the fires out.
What a mess....
My sister safe but said at 1 AM her condo shook from the gas explosions and she ducked into her utility closet for the rest of the night.
