Don Everly, half the Everly Brothers Duo died yesterday at his home in Nashville, TN. He was 84 years old. No cause of death was listed.
Younger brother Phil died several years ago, but he was a heavy smoker while Don didn't smoke.
The Everly Brothers were the first group inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame.

RIP Mr. Everly.
Kinda got drowned out by Charlie Watts passing.
Mentioning the Everly Bros. immediately cues up "Wake Up Little Suzie" in my head.

Having lived in Nashville for about 20 years & working in a job that frequently put me backstage at things like the CMA awards.
I have seen Don Everly pick guitar & no, I don't mean play rhythm!
The Everly's daddy Ike was a well known guitar picker around Nashville and I do believe some of that rubbed off on his sons.
Perhaps he even gave them a guitar lesson or two?
Since Don's death I have hunted all over Youtube for a video of him picking.
So far, I have come up empty handed.
