New Hip Day. I'm 51 but have been hurting for quite awhile. I was on the deck cleaning up an inherited walker and my 6 year-old neighbor asked me if it was for somebody "elderly." (Sigh)

Went in at 6:30 Friday, home by Noon. I'm supposed to start moving around right away. Doctor's directions: Don't be a wimp but don't be a hero.

First day: Not too bad, maybe overdid it.
First night: Sleepless (so far)
Today: Pain predicted
Sunday: Pain predicted
Monday: Worst is over (I hope)

The good news is that I ordered this for myself. Out with the old (hip), in with the new (hip) guitar - Eastman 486t. Should be here Tuesday.

Snagged this off of Reverb for a $100. Advertised as "excellent" condition, I'd describe it as "meh." Great tones, though.

Good timing I guess Tommy, since you now have I-70 coming thru town.

A friend of mine is 40 and he was in surgery yesterday having the second one removed (from the same hip!)
He reminds me of the old song from Hee Haw: "Gloom, dispair & agony on me....."

Hope you enjoy the Eastman, they sure make nice stuff!

Good luck with the surgery.

Oh man congrats that's a trifecta win right there! A great semi hollow a great pedal and hopefully a massive reduction in pain. Hope it all works out great for you. I know we usually say pics or it didn't happen and you got 2 out of 3 but I'm squeamish so I'll let you slide on this one.😂

Congrats on the new hardware - hope the pain index is not to high and that the end result gets you back moving well.

As far as the guitar, that looks really nice - Eastman's have always been on my GAS list, both the semi-hollows and the recent junior/doublecuts that they came out with. Mojo for healing and a safe arrival of the new axe!

Tommy - Congrats on the NGD and NHD! Our neighbors (all ages) were getting so many hips replaced it was like an epidemic. I personally have no interest in joining the Hipsters.

Oh man I think I frequently sound like an infomercial.
I wish doctors were better about informing patients about the benefits of Benadryl to augment pain management instead of leaving it up to people to hear about from other sources and doing their own research.
We just replaced our sitting. We were both experiencing little muscle and joint pains and wanted power recliners but everything was leather or fake leather and we just don't like that. Ended up ordering off the Amazon and got lift chairs. Yep, 50 years old with a lift chair, oh what good money spent.
Mrs10t has juice everyday. She had a pin removed from elbow (previous break) about 4 years ago and was 100% healed in 3 weeks, doctor wanted to know the secret.
Happy new hip, pedal, and guitar day. God speed.

Thinks, Mickey.

A s conjested as town is, we gotta keep telling ourselves that these people aren't thrilled with a huge detour. We can do our part and get our driving done before/after rush hour (1p-6p).

You deserve a new guitar for going through a hip surgery. My left knee gives me a fit and at times and something weird goes on with my left foot at times as well but it usually clears up in 2-4 days. I pray that I do not have to go under the knife for those problems some day. I hope you have a speedy recovery. If the neck and nut width works for you, I think you will love that Eastman. Every one that I have seen is stunning in person regardless of color/finish. Mine still looks cool with just a wipe off with a clean microfiber cloth and I clean up the fretboard sometimes and put a little Dunlop oil on it maybe once a year. I was just learning to play a little when I bought the guitar so much of my practicing and learning over the past five years have happened with it. I bought an Agile last Fall as I wanted an affordable Les Paul copy so I play it a good bit now too.

I am just now learning to play with other people as I did not have much opportunity for that and I can tell that I am getting much better doing that. I have just mostly learned playing in a vacuum by myself. Is a cool thing that you are in a band.
