George "Buddy" Guy (born July 30, 1936)[2] is an American blues guitarist and singer. He is an exponent of Chicago blues who has influenced generations of guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr. and John Mayer. In the 1960s, Guy played with Muddy Waters as a session guitarist at Chess Records and began a musical partnership with blues harp virtuoso Junior Wells. His popularity did not go mainstream until his promotion by major rockstars finally took hold in the late 1980s.

Guy was ranked 23rd in Rolling Stone magazine's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".[3] His song "Stone Crazy" was ranked 78th in the Rolling Stone list of the "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time".[4] Clapton once described him as "the best guitar player alive".[5

I just remembered an interesting bit: on our low-key local honeymoon, 1884, on Martha's Vineyard, "Buddy Guy and Junior Wells" played a gig in a modest barn/bar, small crowd, a few local bored young folks (Cape and Islands is known for locals winter drinking to break boredom, or such).

In the Masters show, Buddy Guy mentions that Junior Wells, before their official collaboration, had his own band with a guitar lead named "Buddy Guy", not the real one.
Now I wonder if I saw the real Buddy or the fake one?
