Anyone heard from FatJack lately?

His two Agiles showed up in one of my eBay searches this morning and the the fact that he wasn't the seller as well as the language in the item descriptions has me a little concerned. I realized I hadn't seen him post in a while so I checked and his last activity was early May. I seem to recall that had some health issues as well. I sent him an email through AGF but it doesn't look good:

Sounds like someone is selling them for him or his estate.

Yes, the fact that the seller had no knowledge or information about the guitars nor was there anybody who did has me unfortunately thinking it's the latter...

He likely does have info, if you approach him properly.
Just tell him an "on-line" friend of yours has disappeared & he appears to be selling that guy's guitars.
etc.,etc.,etc.

I suppose, I'll have to give some thought to it. I remember when he bought that 3`100MCC and all the good natured scheit I gave him about buying that AD-2250, IMO Rondo's equivalent of the Ford Edsel...

The AD-2250 is one I would buy! I wouldn't touch the 3100MCC!

No, I haven´t. Hope Larry - FatJack - is ok. Yes, he has some important health issues.
This is why I think - and posted about it a while ago, actually - that we should have someone instructed to tell AGF if anything happens to any of us. My son has instructions, btw.
If he respond to your PM, please let us know, John @tobijohn.

I heard back from the eBay seller and I'm afraid it is as I suspected:
Hello. Yes, he was a family member of my wife. Unfortunately passed away a couple months ago. It was time to start the process of going through his items and trying to get a few dollars to cover expenses. We have all of his other items still to sell, just thought we’d start with these two items to see if there was interest … but as I mentioned in the listings, nobody in the family is familiar with his hobby.

@tobijohn I´m pretty sure that you´d have think about asking for Larry´s musical gear list to see if there´s any interest here? Just a thought I had.

It occurred to me but I was afraid it might seem a little insensitive, picking through a dead guy's stuff. As I mentioned above, I told the seller to contact me if I could be of any help. If he does, I'll mention it here...

Yeah. It can be felt like that; I was just thinking that as he mentioned that they need the money to help cover expenses, maybe some things could sell fast here in case there were any real interest among AGFers. But yeah, I don´t kow if there´s a way of saying that without it seeming a little bit insensitive... You´re right, better to wait if he contacts you for any help.

Well that sucks! Maybe just tell the family his handle on the forum and they can understand more about him that way?

FYI: I received this subsequent message from the seller yesterday:
John - Your kind very are much appreciated. We also heard from Sabas - who sent a very nice note. I've shared these with Larry's mother and sister - and they were so thrilled to get these unexpected notes. It made their day.
Thank you for the info on the guitar and the link. I know nothing about them ... and was even having trouble finding a model number to help list these. Definitely not my area of expertise. I might have to take you up on helping to understand some of the other items Larry left behind. We are pretty sure they aren't worth much, but he did say to make sure and sell the items to take care of his expenses and leave the rest for his mother. Perhaps there might even be some interest among your forums for some of the items - probably helps knowing the previous owner and his care.
All the best.
Derek
I mentioned that because of the exposure and his familiarity with listing on eBay, that would be the best for Larry's stuff going forward and I could always post the links here. I also told him it would be easier for him to just email me pictures of what they would like to sell and I could then do a little research on appropriate pricing...

Sad to hear, thank you for following up John, and this just goes to show what a close community this special forum is.
