Craigslist weirdos

Craigslist weirdos. I know it's about 50/50 chance of meeting weirdos on Craigslist. From a guy at work, bass player looking to form, start, jam in a band. He has had a few come to his house, he has gone to a few places to jam etc.

So he keeps the contacts on his phone because sometimes it is a totally different ad yet posted by someone he has already met and things did not progress. There's one guy who only wants a recent video of you playing whether you have one or not. Weirdo.

So he shows me this ad of a guitarist who is looking for a bass player, he says he may know who this is already but replies anyway. Guy's name is Tony and lives 10 miles up the road. He is going back and forth with text messages and can not get the guy to call his phone to talk. They exchange song lists etc, and he tells me again "i think i know who this is" and his name was Keith last time, not Tony.

My friend calls him Keith on purpose in a text message (and doesn't get corrected) and asks again to call him after work. So finally Tony agrees to call him. But he says to go fill out this form first. The guy sends him a Google form to fill out.

You can fill it out, just use numbers or fake it on the first page then it will let you read the rest of the pages. I was "definitely a weirdo". You would think a phone call could help you see if you were into the same style of music.

Making fun of this after reading all the songs he listed, i told my buddy at work, I guess he likes Green Day but I want to go see him play " Cult of Personality" on guitar.

Anybody who is seeking other musicians on craigslist and using multiple aliases would be a red flag for me.

Every time I've ever remotely considered hooking up with musicians on craigslist the thought of this guy answering the door gives me pause.

Don't make me post pictures of the people down the road with 5 or 6 posed mannequins in the yard 24/7/365.

Man, that thing is like nine miles long! It was like one of those surveys you take that pay you in the form of an Amazon gift card, or something. I didn't check any of those stupid boxes, but I did entertain myself answering the questions.

Man. That is a long form. I could never fill that entire thing out. Thankfully, a really talented guitar player named Holden Koche seems to be a great fit for the band. Unfortunately, all the songs he know how to play are "meh" but he doesn't know any of the songs he loves. He also probably has a lot of great ideas for the band, such as making sure they have a good image or theme to market. Ideas he was just throwing out there include all men in the band wearing women's lingerie while any women in the group have to wear full pant suits. He loves playing in bands because he enjoys shaking his bum while making eye contact with people, so he's probably a great fit. Loud noises do scare him, though.

Oh and Holden has a great equipment! He only plays Gibsons, and most still have headstocks! His live rig is a 100W Plexi going into a custom 1x8 cab.

I've filled one of those out before. I thought the band was pretty good so I did it. Afterwards, I regretted it. There was a LOT of personal information they were asking. I saw it as a violation of my privacy, I was stupid to fill it out. It took me a freakin' half hour to fill it out. Afterwards I never heard from them. No thank you, no FK you, nothing. I will NEVER do that again. They can kiss my BT.
