Just wanted to say thanks to @tonray for the thread:

https://www.aguitarforum.net/viewtopic. ... ady#p14306

I bought a set & it is one of the best guitar products I've bought in many years!
Thanks Tony! Or is it Thanks Ray? :D

Those are great products, yes sir. And you got it for a nice price indeed. I got mine for free with the aid of Mossman (he also got one set); not Muslady in this case, these are Lekato. The company was offering full refund if you bought one and wrote a review on Amazon. Still haven´t used it for real, just tested if it worked - it did -. Just got it two days ago.

Well, enjoy it!

PS: I´d have to thank @ID10t in my case.

Where did you get it from, Mickey?

I’ve heard some complaints about these units because the one that gets plugged in to the amp never moves and so it apparently turns itself off every 10 minutes because it has some battery saver. Is that true with these units? Seems like it should be easy to solve…

Gotta call BS on that. At least it has never happened with mine.
Maybe if it needs recharging?
They charge off USB and one charge is good for many hours of play.

There are dozens and dozens of these things on both Amazon and eBay. I was looking at the Joyo ones because although at $40, they are $15 more than the bulk of the cheapest ones, the jack pivots and their combined 4 and 5 star rating is 92% which is quite a bit higher than anything under $30,

amazon.com/dp/B08R8FSFRB/?coliid=I1L3LZGYI83NI3&colid=1HF9VBL1D7CUT&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Thinking about it though, my only concern is electrical interference from PC stuff, cell phone recharging stations and fluorescent fixtures which are only a couple feet from my desk chair which is where I spend all my time playing. Even with cables I get a ton of it so I can only imagine what it might be like with a wireless setup. A lot of the lower rated units also got complaints about latency and hiss, even from under 10 feet away...

I've had no problems using them & I even have a microwave oven in the same room.
Been using them for nearly a year & I've only recharged them once.
I've not done anything where latency would be an issue, so I really can't comment on that.
Hiss, no worse than a guitar cable.

Thanks, it is through Amazon so I guess if there are any problems, they can go back and it costs me nothing...

Incidentally, I said that I had only recharged them once but I should have said: "Once or twice"
the point being a charge lasts a long time, at least the way I use them. :)

Looks like there's a a10% off prime coupon on that Joyo model today too, I might actually grab a set as I also got a $20 amazon gift card in the mail from my employer yesterday.

Ah WTH, I went ahead and ordered the Joyo and It should be here tomorrow. I'm trying to get a handle on this instant gratification thing but Amazon is making it very difficult...

FWIW, the Muslady transmitter that @mickey bought last year for $30 is now listed at $40-$55...

Well, inflation seems to be hitting everything pretty hard right now.
I was hearing yesterday that what was high-book retail on a used car has become low-book wholesale.
Time to stock up on beer, I suppose? :D

@tobijohn The Joyo´s you got are exactly the same as Lekato´s, except for the name. Applying the discount coupon they were around $34 a set (and I got mine for free with the refund).

I think there´s one company fabricating them under several names. Or maybe it´s the same one company who puts them there under "different names", although I don´t see the point on doing that if they´re almost the same price. But then, I´m not a bussines man.

Yes, there were several dozen listings but the vast majority of them were only a few different unique types...

If it is just a transmitter and receiver, there can be no latency. If it converts it to digital for some reason, yes then cheaper ones will have latency.

That's good to hear. It seems like it would a major design flaw if that actually happened. I'm always on the lookout for streamlining and cable management, so for $25 this seems like a no brainer...

I pulled the trigger on the Joyo's with the $4 off coupon, looking forward to my first wireless experience!

Looks like @mickey and @Tonray's Ghost started a guitar wireless system snowball :)

Great!

I'm glad they worked out for you...I know at one point you thought there was some issue with the sound if I remember. I find I don't use mine too often, except when I use the acoustic because being away from the amp is a good thing for feedback control. Otherwise, I'm usually fiddling with the multi-function pedal as I play/practice and that requires me to be right up at cord length anyway.

FYI: Mine arrived earlier today. I let it charge up for about an hour and then plugged it in. Granted, I'm only sitting a few feet away but no interference from other nearby electrical devices and no latency. No changes to the tone either, the guitar sounds the same whether wireless or cabled...

You see...therein lies my basic problem....I still suck but I'm free to watch TV in the other part of the living room while I do !

Thanks for the update, looking forward to their arrival and good to hear that there is no latency.

I tried an experiment a while back with a set of bluetooth headphones and a bluetooth transmitter that plugged into a headphone jack, and there was definitely latency there - just enough to completely throw my brain for a loop and make them unusable ;-)

I have the joyo pair and it works great. Been using it regularly for a month or so.

When I said above that there was no interference from other electrical devices, that's exactly what I meant. When I was connecting with a regular 10ft cable, there was always interference to varying degrees based on my position but it's completely quiet with the wireless system. I'm going to have to try it later with a few other guitars, especially ones with single coils...
