Yesterday, the Boston PBS tv station showed this documentary (see NOTE below):
"WBCN and The American Revolution"
"...story of the radical radio station WBCN, set against the profound social, political, and cultural changes that took place in Boston and nationally during the late-1960s, early-70s"
These folks were the first ones to play Queen, Aerosmith, and a very young Bruce Springsteen.
Covering news like Watergate, Kent State. Women's programs, a gay show.
FBI raids, a bunch of fun stuff.
NOTE: Coming to PBS stations nationally, fall 2021. Watch it.

Pretty cool that in this day of vloggers and such that PBS still puts out such high quality/well produced content. Sometimes doing things the way you used to do them is a good thing

Cool indeed, and they need our support. Consider supporting your local PBS affiliate off you aren't already.

Our family does. I worked for the University of WI for 20 years and Wisconsin Public Television/Radio are both part of our institution, so I've been a proponent for a long time.

Well I usually don't have much to contribute, but here I do.
Seems like a great idea, go for it. I on the other have have been a victim of "The PBS Mafia." In the early 2k's I had stupid $ and low cost of living, I always thought that when the time came that I could donate to PBS, I would.
It started with a standard form letter
"Dear ID, we here at PBS appreciate the contrubution of
$500.00 and are somewhat surprised you don't value our service at least
$3,500 more. We've enclosed a stamped envelope for you so that you can redeem yourself a little you Piece of Crap."
Then they got aggressive and I started getting the envelopes twice a week. I think my old landlord probably has boxes of these letters from the last 17 years.
