A few years back, inflation in Zimbabwe was so out of control they issued a 100 trillion dollar bill.

Kind of a naive thing to say, considering the amount of messed up stuff the US government did with Venezuela for the benefit of American corporations over the citizens there...

Hi, Pezident.

Even though the poster at reddit posted it recently, that video is old. It was back in 2017 that bs per dollar were around 6.500. Recent rate is around 1.860.000 bs/$ (it changes almost daily). A hamburger on the street goes from $2 and up (meaning, from Bs 4.000.000 and up).

Still, it reflects the situation very well. It´s very hard to get bolivar bills, you use your debit cards for almost everything, or electronic transactions, or dollar bills. Low salaries.

I pay $100/month for rent, and mine is relatively low; I know of some that pay four or five times what I pay.

Last week I bought a 4 pounds chicken for $4; prices vary depending on the region.

:)

Yes, yes, I'm sure it was all the cause of the u.s., the great satan. The worst 5hing to happen to the world since cancer and freedom. All I'm saying is what happened there is spreading here. And it's no accident.

And I hope we can meet in the middle that stupid people who vote to get something for nothing are being played by 1%ers who want it all.

What an ignorant and misguided post! The economic issues in Venezuela are 100% the result of their own government policies that decimated every industry from farming to PdVSA. You can only artificially prop up a non-productive economy for so long before the house of cards collapses.

In other news, more than 25% of all USD in existence were “created” in the last 12 months and Congress is about to print several trillion more. You don’t need a PhD in economics to figure out where this will lead.
