This board is as quiet as a Capitol Police Watch commander, I hope all are OK
Busy prepping. Actually been busy making a tube guitar preamp, bought a few things, sold a few things, traded a few things. Next on the list is EF86 style amp, finish the 6sl7 Tweed deluxe and find a combo cabinet, finish the JTM18 build, start the 6G15 stand alone fender reverb, get the 50's Premier amp on the bench to be restored, then maybe tackle the 3 full sized 88 key keyboards. Besides that I may actually buy my fishing license this year and say fk everything else.

For the most part, working like crazy - between work and home, so many things going on it's hard to find time to even remember to check in. Finding time to play can be rough too. I'd like to think things will return to "normal" but where I work I have a feeling temporary workload may become the new expected normal... it's the culture, alas!
Still here @Tonray's Ghost. There has been some activity but not to the level of the past... I may be picking up a new pedal next week so stay tuned for a new pedal day post.

been xc skiing a lot after work and on days off. Community weekly race series has started. I need to crush my opponents to listen to the keening of their women. I do browse thru here every day, though.

I'm here all the time. I never had anything significant to contribute, I'm more in the learning phase than the teaching. I'm fatigued but trying to remain and project positive.

How are you doing Poodles? You kind of scared me the other day with your talk of fever/shock/being laid up. Everything OK?

I am fine, thanks for asking.uwmcscott wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 5:59 pmHow are you doing Poodles? You kind of scared me the other day with your talk of fever/shock/being laid up. Everything OK?
Had to rest a bit, mild fever, highly unusual for me. Weather is so mild, here, that it is easy to go out without the proper layers, catch a cold, and that's must have happened.
I just turned 68, so I should be generally a bit more careful.
The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.
Ditto here too. The new year has been really busy, and I think I've played the guitar maybe twice this month :-/
Still checking in, but haven't had much to say...

I have been trying to remember to check in, but i also haven’t had much to contribute. Between all day homeschool and the daily grind, I have little time and energy left for playing or working on projects. My band has been on hiatus since winter came. Sometimes like now I sit down and don’t have someone needing something or talking my ear off . It’s rare these days.

I usually take a look at new post first and lately very little content to check out. This morning I looked and just 1 post Buddha listed some pups for sale. When there are a few post displayed not much about gear, or road stories, or gigs or even practice seems to me there're more post about other things. I use to be excited about seeing what everyone was doing music wise and a lot about guitars and gear and musicians. Now it seems to me it's becoming more a platform for rants about things that don't interest me. For awhile I thought it was everyone getting over the momo invasion but now I think we're down to just a handful of folks that are hanging on. I know this may not be popular but IMO if it doesn't change we're done. If I counted right 261 people have signed up that's not many for a forum but out of those a goodly amount have never posted or just 1 or 2 post.I have no idea how to do this but we need to recruit new blood maybe if we take a few minutes each day to post with pictures about guitars, bands gigs anything that has to do with music and others will find us and see us as a place they would like to join and participate. Anyway I hope I didn't make anyone angry.

I think some of the issue is there have been no gigs, no guitar shopping withh Covid scare, etc etc. Even here in Bangkok....with the recent Covid uptick I have stopped traveling into downtown and just head out to the Supermarket a couple times a week, maybe stopping for an iced coffee at the Food Court...which has of course been modified so only one chair at each table for distancing. We just need to get past this horrible time in history...redman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 11:34 am I usually take a look at new post first and lately very little content to check out.
