Some sad news regarding fullonshred

I know many of you here interacted with my friend Bob, aka fullonshred, on a regular basis. I'm sad to share the news that he has passed. I attended his memorial service earlier this evening.

Bob and I were friends for 29 years. Along the way, he introduced me to this community and encouraged me to pick up the guitar again after a 35 year break. I bought a Firefly 338 and a Katana 50 based on his guidance and on advice from you guys. He owned over 20 guitars and would bring a different one by for me to sample nearly every visit over the past year. Over the years, we shared a lot of cigars, coffee, music, movie quotes and stories...so many good memories.

Bob was a good friend to me and helped me through some tough times . He was always supportive and genuinely caring for others. On one of his final posts here, he was asking about a fellow member and hoping they were doing okay. They responded and assured him, that while it had been a difficult year, they were hanging in there. At his memorial tonight, many in attendance described how Bob would make that same kind of effort on their behalf - to reach out, check-in, and offer his support. He valued friendship and truly exemplified it.

I'm really going to miss Bob and I wish him peace. I'm sure he'll be missed here as well.

I thought you'd want to know...

Mike

Mike:

Thank you for sharing, but this is incredibly shocking news....Bob was here such as short time ago and there was no indication at all that anything was wrong, it doesn’t seem real. Can you share with us what happened? I believe he helped take care of his parents as well, are they OK?

This is very sad news to hear, but I thank you, Mike,@exonerv for letting us all know. Bob "fullonshred" always seemed like a great, gregarious, caring, and warm individual. I'm glad you were able to have him as a friend for almost 30 years. I will miss him being a part of the AGF family.

Matt

His passing was unexpected and caught us all unaware. His parents are well cared for by his sisters and have round the clock in-home care. Naturally, they are all grieving his loss.

Thanks again, is there a memorial or anything else that any of us might be able to help with? I can certainly attest to his willingness to reach our and help others here on the forum.

Mike, you didn't specify: was this due to Covid-19 or something else?

Tears running down my face. He was a kind and caring man, even to a "stranger" like me. Bob's presence will be very much missed here.

I'm very sorry to hear that. He was here so recently and seemed, as much as you can tell from the other side of a computer screen, lively and involved.

Wow - Although I was already on board with the transition to this forum, he reached out to make sure I knew. Since I had only been on the old forum a very short time, I was quite impressed. It appears that was quite his nature.

Thank you Bob, hope to meet your spirit someday....

@exonerv Mike, thanks for letting us know. I´m shocked, as he was active recently. He and I shared many things, and he was always available for everyone, at the distance of a prayer, and I´m thankful that some of his prayers were for me and my family here in Venezuela.

I´m gonna miss him here, for sure.

May his soul rest in peace, with our heavenly Father.

My prayers for his parents and his family, and for you, to get comfort from above.

If you need us, anytime, we´re here for you too, Mike.

Sabas.

Such sad news today on AGF but so very heartwarming to see the community gather in support and mourn the losses we are feeling. Full On deserves a forum marker of some sort as has been an AGF tradition.

This is terrible news! He will be missed by our little community. The suddenness of his passing leaves so many questions. May his loved ones fine peace and comfort in his passing. Mike - as others have said - please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Mike, it is good to know that you were good friends with Bob, like you have posted, I’m sure he was a standup guy because around here he sure was. I don’t think I had ever seen a negative reply or post about anything on this forum, everything he offered was positive and reassuring and kind. I’m sorry for your loss as is the rest of us here on AGF also , this just sucks, rip sir Shred
