I bought or should I say I ordered a new Gretsch today the least expensive one they had, partially because of the price and partially because I really liked it. this is it https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detai ... rial-stain
I chose that color because it came with $50 in bonus bucks I'll find some use for. I have a credit card that you accumulate points and can use for cash towards your bill or whatever and I had more than enough to have it Plek'd so I did. The guy at Sweetwater said it would stay with the Plek guys usually 48 hours then comes back to the set up guys then shipped so I'm thinking a week or better so have any of you had one Plek'd.

I've had guitars that were were plek'd before I got it (e.g., G&L, Gibson) but I've never had it done later.

Some Tributes came plek'd but it might not have been a full pleking...I cant remember the subtleties. The two I got played very well.

There was a poster "dspellman" who knew much about it. "He's plek'd alot of guitars". Dont think he's been on the new site much.

I've had many guitars PLEK'd, and I mean both before and after I took possession of them. I've stood and watched the machine doing it. Assuming the procedure is done by a competent operator, as mine were, and set up well afterwords, as mine also were, the guitar will play as good as it possibly can.

I would like to see and try it. That said, I have set up a few, and also had a few come from the factory so good that I don't see how it could get any better.

My Agile AL 2000 in Green Spalt is one of them. The thing was Freaking Incredible right out of the box. And it still is.

@fullonshred I'm like you I just wanted to check it out I feel I do a good set-up I cover everything that's adjustable or "sandable" I don't think that's a real word but I'm good with sandpaper. I have a lot of repeat customers and referrals so I know they've been happy
The best out of the box set-ups I've saw have been the one's that came from All In One Guitars they set them up how you want before they ship and do a great job. My LP Studio is an example of my best set-up. The fret board is smooth as silk everything from the nut to the bridge radius is spot on so that's the one I'll compare the new Gretsch to. I'll try to do a review on the guitar when it comes but I'm not much good at doing reviews or playing guitar really I'm not much good at anything.

Here's my LP with my AL3200

Hey @redman, I would love to be present at a Plekking, and get to try out the guitar both before and after. It seems very interesting and it certainly might take the guitar to another level. It sounds like you do setups fairly often, or am I misinterpreting things? If I am on point here, how did you get started doing setups for others?

I have only ever done one on a guitar I didn't own, and it was on a used Les Paul I was considering buying. And a couple of guitars as mentioned above came right from the factory just not needing anything but and amp and a player, at least in my eyes.

Nice pair of LP's you have there. I love the idea of the 3200s. Wish I had bought one back when I was still playing regularly. I just can't justify it these days, but would still love to have one.

What I've played Plek'd Gibsons, none of them were perfect. Invariably the saddle is too high, for instance, which makes it all too easy to bend chords out of tune, and the actions are set rather high. As for fret levelness, I suppose they're good, but in any case I've never played one that I wouldn't want to work on a bit myself.
