My short haired exotic cat passed away unexpectedly this morning. He was in no way a cat. He believe himself to be a dog, and acted like one every day of his life. He was my son, and gave me so much love and joy. My heart is broken today. 2020 can't end fast enough.

So sorry to hear about your dog-cat Marley. I had a dog type cat that passed just over a year ago. My wife actually had his dna frozen. Just in case we ever get rich someday. I have a few cats that hang around now but they are so 2 dimensional in comparison. I have an idea what a special loss that can be.

I'm so sorry, Doc. It is heartbreaking.

After enough time, I encourage you to get another, or two, as soon as you can handle it.
I went through these steps when I lost T-Bone, seen in avatar. Eventually, I took in two rescue cats that, while very different from T-Bone, have earned their own distinct places in my heart. T-Bone has not been displaced, but my heart has grown in giving a home to two more needy appreciative guys. They love it here, and they needed it.

It is like a Twilight Zone deal with the Devil, they offer up so much joy at the cruelest price.

Sorry to hear this Doc I'm not looking forward to day that my cat doesn't come home. Life goes on and I've always felt that a loved one that is gone would not want me to remain unhappy so I personally will look for another pet that needs me.

So sorry, all life goes to fast.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
I believe he would not want you to mourn for too long; but to have the memories of your time together warm your heart and bring a smile to your face.
That same feeling and smile he saw and felt from you on so many occasions.

I literally shed tears writing this; but selfishly much due to contemplating the inevitable with my dog-dogs.
