A SELF PAT ON THE BACK
In the last few days I've done all my guitar maintenance...including:

Seasonal setups
Fixed a bad pot
Put new string on all the girls
Double checked the cable and patch cables
Re-cut 4 nuts
and posted some extra pedal for sale that I had lying around.
Not bad for an OLD guy....

Still need to air out all my case, but that'll wait for another day!
Time to play now....

Well deserved. I don't know that I'll ever be done, even though I try to keep going. Finally removed strings from the new (old) jazzmaster, took the neck off, looked under the hood, cleaned out the bridge, lots to do. I gotta say that cutting or even just fine-tuning nuts is my least favorite work. Even the tedious stuff like fret polishing gives you immediate gratification visually and there's no "trial and error" nor worry that you've gone too far. I got a set of those gas files to see if I can get better at notching nuts, maybe even braver. I have a couple of bone blanks from StewMac from ages ago, which I got to make acoustic saddles but they're thick enough for most nut configs, maybe I'll try it some day. I usually like restringing and cleaning. Biggest problem is that sitting online all day creates far more mod ideas and ordering parts is far easier than actually DOING the work  My pathological frugality is what keeps me from just buying everything I want on a whim.

Good work. Last time I tried patting myself on the back I got tendonitis. Old age ain't for the faint of heart.
